That is general trend in society now.

Depends if you are in UK or not.

Why would you jump to this conclusion? I wonder why some people on internet are repeating narratives like drones.

Poland has largest use of coal in EU. Czechia and Germany are behind. Poland is including energy from sun and wind now a lot but there is still long way. Unlike surrounding countries they never had nuclear for some reason. https://app.electricitymaps.com/map/zone/PL/live/

> Do they also complain when they themselves meet with Meta, or is it an issue only when their growing opposition do it?

Are you referring to anything specific or you have just emotional urge to defend far right? (PfE in this case).

Yeah no need for coffee beans in USA.

Seems more like from taxing companies to taxing citizens.

Sure people can lie to themselves, but they are still supporting this if they are not opposing him.

Same with the Epstein files.

How is Obama relevant here? Were there mass kidnappings on the streets?
timeon··on The Nobel Prize and the Laureate Are Inseparable
At that time it was not only for Kissinger but also for North Vietnamese representative. It just that Lê Đức Thọ (as war was still ongoing) declined it while Kissinger did not.

Not sure why some American representatives (Kissinger and Trump) are so pathetic.

timeon··on The Nobel Prize and the Laureate Are Inseparable
> Ironic considering that the country was founded by people who fled similar malaise plaguing the Old World

I had impression that it was other way around. Basically puritans. I can imagine people in Europe at that time were happy that they left. Unfortunately, as example this Greenland situation, they are back now.

timeon··on If you put Apple icons in reverse it looks like someone getting good at design
This could be also: "which item does not belong to the sequence?"

Answer would be: newest one. It feels uncanny.

It tries to be simplified abstraction. But it is not. There are unnecessary details that are misleading. It does not abstract from the true meaning. Instead it transforms previous abstractions without understanding them.

timeon··on US electricity demand surged in 2025 – solar handled 61% of it
Not saying this is relevant in solar vs nuclear debate but "eco nerds" are probably not happy about new demand of additional 52TWh or part of it that is not covered by renewables/nuclear.

I've been Apple fan for all those years but it is becoming harder and harder. M1 will be my first HW replaced before it stops working. Just because of software.

I'm already in process migrating to Linux.

timeon··on Canada slashes 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to 6%

Threatening is worse than just "abandon".

timeon··on Canada slashes 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to 6%
I would not blame people in US as I do not blame those in Russia or North Korea (or those in my country - which include myself). But unfortunately that is not relevant here.

NATO is basically dead at this point.

timeon··on AWS European Sovereign Cloud
> so there's nothing we can do

And US law will just let it go?

There are several options for AWS. They can simply just obfuscate command to local employees. Or fly US employees there just for this one task. "EU law" will find out after they are back in US - if ever. There is no way to escape CLOUD Act if it is US owned.
