tigeroil··on Hungary used citizens’ Covid data to help the ruling party
Probably worth mentioning as well that in the UK it's actually now a legal requirement to register to vote if you are eligible to do so.
tigeroil··on Young women earn more than men in some US cities
I don't doubt this and I do reckon the average creator on OnlyFans makes a lot less than you'd think, especially from the outliers, but I'd be curious as to how this was calculated. I suspect there's a hell of a lot of inactive creators / ones with one or two followers for example.

Indeed and this is something that bothers me with law enforcement in the US in general.

I feel like so much could be improved, both in terms of reducing crime rates and in terms of people actually respecting law enforcement of having a more "friendly" approach. Obviously if there's an imminent threat to life then obviously you expect them to be a bit more heavy handed, but I do feel like there's many things that could be dealt with without resorting to well, this.

tigeroil··on Oxford University Press’s new logo is unfathomably bad
Indeed. I can also see their new logo scaling a lot better. The new logo would become fairly unrecognisable, especially at smaller sizes.

I'm a bit mixed about them moving to a sans-serif font, even as someone who usually prefers them, as I find for printed word serif can look rather wonderful but it's hardly the baddest of sins.

tigeroil··on Bitcoin falls under $16,000
Thing is, the market doesn't care whether or not you believe in the underlying asset. The difference is that when you buy shares you're buying shares in a company that actually produces something, and those shares usually pay dividends.

Buying crypto because you believe in a given project is the same as buying a beanie baby because you happen to like the particular appearance of said beanie baby.

tigeroil··on Meta lays off 11,000 people
Indeed - having spoken to these reviewers as well they seem to have fairly minimal day-to-day involvement with the company themselves.
