throwaway5d097··on Why Programming Is Difficult (2014)
> Did you do your homework? Implementing your own tools should be the last resort not the first resort. It should be driven by frustration at the inadequacy of current tools, and not based on a whim to do something cool.

IME having to learn a fancy framework to edit a couple of things on an open source app that was mostly what we needed hurt a lot more than it would have to make something very KISS with something like Flask as a proof of concept.

Whether choosing to implement your own thing from scratch should be a last resort, or that it necessarily requires tremendous breath of experience, really depends on the circumstance, as you described. In many circumstances you don't have to be a genius to know NIH is probably the sanest option.

metal isn't metal, since it's rooted in punk. FACT

Extreme metal rooted from Discharge. Sounds close enough anyway. Crossover thrash isn't metal because it has punk on it, too?

Regardless, this is just pedantry.

CBD isolate by itself can be a lot cheaper. The cheapest I've found is online from Fully Activated, around $20/g. You should be able to mix your own tinctures with liquid coconut oil, and optionally sunflower lecithin.

I've been unemployed for two years after graduating, plus a short tense stint at a fast food place. It's hard to write any software. All I do is read HN and about technologies without actually doing anything. Have had several medical professionals "really think" I am autistic, but none were qualified to diagnose.

It's way too hard to find paid work. If I could earn minimum wage by coding simple, small systems, I would be so happy.
