throwaway5486nv··on Article by Vladimir Putin ”On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians“
I was shocked to learn recently how diverse various parts of Russia is. There's hardly anything common uniting Russia including language. Russia is so huge simply because they did not had mountains to protect from marching invaders and the kings solution was to keep marching until they found mountains to define the boundaries. Along the way they made treaties with all sorts of culture and it became Russia.

throwaway5486nv··on My Remote Mob Programming Experience
> Some developers really like to be left alone, and it's terrible for the business

The problem is sharing credit. What is the incentive for a good developer to share credit with a bad developer especially when the don't like each other?

If you do mob programming how would you know who is making contribution and who is slacking and how to rate the performance.

> The amount of outright hostility I've faced professionally for suggesting mob programming was staggering.

For a good reason. In my experience great developers don't mind helping out but they expect to be recognized which is fair.

This question is for the practitioners in the ML field.

throwaway5486nv··on Older workers press age discrimination claims in challenge to IBM layoffs
Embrace Remote Work. Its hard to detect age if you color your hair or wear toupee and its illegal to ask age during interviews. Covid has been a blessing. I am also betting on video software's to remove wrinkles in my skin.

My understanding is more than the density configuration of the neurons matters most. The reason is in some cases neural network with drop out's perform better than fully connected neural network. This proves less dense networks can be more intelligent.

The solution is to not depend on stackexchange. Since the data of stackexchange is released under the creative commons license, third party can host it on onion site. The downside to this approach is real time access and posting questions will not be possible but at least one can browse the older posts.
