threepts··on Claude.ai unavailable and elevated errors on the API
First of all 1) 8 H100S are NOT ENOUGH for today's premier models (500B+ tokens) and if you do run a obsolete model forget about memory.

2) After buying the 300k GPUs, your electricity cost will put you in competition with hosting on cloud costs, you will probably lose dollars this way.

3) NVIDIA will charge you a kidney to provide driver/hardware support if anything goes wrong.

This inherently a bad idea and this person is probably trying to promote his startup.

threepts··on Google and Pentagon reportedly agree on deal for 'any lawful' use of AI
I still disagree with your point Google having enough power to supersede the democratic process. If they have "good will" and fight back, someone else will take their place.
threepts··on The quiet resurgence of RF engineering
Shameless spam.
threepts··on Claude.ai unavailable and elevated errors on the API
A trillion dollar valuation.

They should ask Codex now that Claude Code is down.

threepts··on Anthropic Joins the Blender Development Fund as Corporate Patron
Anthropic is BLEEDING through cash as we speak while valuations soar and they have the funds to do charity?

I feel this a thinly veiled attempt at again, stealing IP.

threepts··on OpenAI misses revenue, is the AI bubble bursting?
Increasing cost will only make people embrace competitor or open source models.
threepts··on Greece to ban anonymity on social media
Just as close we were 10 years ago.

CIA has always had this privelege.

threepts··on Google and Pentagon reportedly agree on deal for 'any lawful' use of AI
Evil to them is not making money. It's pretty subjective.
threepts··on Google and Pentagon reportedly agree on deal for 'any lawful' use of AI
Google simply cannot justify this power struggle, it can doesn't mean it will. It got to the top by kissing the ring and that's how they stay at the top.
threepts··on Google and Pentagon reportedly agree on deal for 'any lawful' use of AI
and the pentagon determines the law?
threepts··on AI's economics don't make sense
I thought this burning of cash was all an excuse for the exponential growth we saw in the last 6 years.

They went from GPT 2 a text only, goldfish-esque memory at a 8th grade reading level to what we have today, GPT 5, multimodality + a token window encompassing a enclyopedia and a Doctorate/Masters level of mastery in major subjects.

The economics are probably betting on this exponential growth to continue, which if it fails, the cash would burn.

threepts··on VibeVoice: Open-source frontier voice AI
Explains most of the shit they have pushing with Windows 11. Perhaps all that bloatware was VibeVoiced too.
threepts··on Who owns the code Claude Code wrote?
Whoever pays for the tokens.
threepts··on Show HN: HNswered – watches for replies to your Hacker News posts and comments
Internet validation is worth gold to the mentally destitute.
threepts··on The West forgot how to make things, now it’s forgetting how to code
I agree, most human developers have an exponential learning curve but I also acknowledge the fact companies are mostly driven by shareholder pressure to maximize earning potential and are not to keen on funding that curve.

They just want to quick results for their 3rd quarter report and AI does that, without much investment (for now atleast).

threepts··on SWE-bench Verified no longer measures frontier coding capabilities
Optimal for judging actual reasoning ability rather than an LLM's ability to regurgitate knowledge from a necropost on HN/Reddit/Twitter from 2018.
threepts··on The West forgot how to make things, now it’s forgetting how to code
"institutional knowledge that exists nowhere in the codebase. Those engineers don’t exist yet because we’re not creating them. The juniors who should be learning right now are either not being hired or developing "

This article passes blame to AI for developers not learning because they are not being actively hired. You do not need to be hired to learn something. You need to learn something in order to be hired.

threepts··on The West forgot how to make things, now it’s forgetting how to code
It's a big strawman.

"Those engineers don’t exist yet because we’re not creating them. The juniors who should be learning right now are either not being hired or developing"

It passes the blame to AI for developers not learning because they are not being hired. You don't need to be hired to learn something. You need to learn something to get hired. It's opposite.

threepts··on The West forgot how to make things, now it’s forgetting how to code
90 percent of the world doesn't need to be able to open a .py, when their 20 dollar a month agent does it for them.

Just like how we don't need to be able to open our kernels and manually update the OS, the software company does it for us. It helps knowing the kernel, but you can still get the security updates even if you don't know how to.

threepts··on The West forgot how to make things, now it’s forgetting how to code
Just like how "The West" offloaded most of its manufacturing to China as people don't have sew their own shoes.

I see this as a sign of increase in productivity, the important software will still have a human centered development team, but we don't need another dev team on say, tinder for dogs.

threepts··on SWE-bench Verified no longer measures frontier coding capabilities
Why don't they ask their premier model to generate a bench for them?

Jokes aside, a benchmark I look forward to is ARC-AGI-3. I tried out their human simulation, and it feels very reasoning heavy.

(Most premier models don't even pass 5 percent.)

threepts··on UK to permanently ban future generations from buying cigarettes
I merely suggested that it is an better alternative as opposed to restricting people's freedom (and setting a precedent that the government can just simply choose to ignore people's rights).

Also criminalization of something always leads to its romanticization to some extent. Look at the rap scene. There is always a rebound effect.

threepts··on How to be anti-social – a guide to incoherent and isolating social experiences
"when all hope is lost in conversation, retreat into your self" I think this is a really valuable insight.

Conversation sucks sometimes, solitude is beautiful.

threepts··on UK to permanently ban future generations from buying cigarettes
They also permanently banned coke, meth and other drugs since the inception of law, guess how that turned out?

"The Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) estimated that 8.7% of people aged 16 to 59 years (around 2.9 million people) reported using any drug in the last 12 months for the year ending (YE) March 2025; there was no statistically significant change compared with YE March 2024"

I believe limiting people's liberty is an ineffective option opposed to education.

threepts··on Google plans to invest up to $40B in Anthropic
I work at google for chrome, I can assure you nobody in our team is using gemini over claude. Haha this is hilarious
threepts··on Meta tells staff it will cut 10% of jobs
I thought they were doing this in order to allocate funds for their multimillion acquisitions on their superintelligence labs?
threepts··on Laws of Software Engineering
I believe there should be one more law here, telling you to not believe this baloney and spend your money on Claude tokens.
threepts··on Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed
next thing you know they'll also ban murder for people born after 2008

UK becomes the safest country in the world, peace forever

threepts··on John Ternus to become Apple CEO
demis has always publicly stated he does not care about the business aspect as much as the scientific endeavor.

i highly doubt he will ever want to take over primarily what is an ad/small time hardware company in favour of taking away focus from his ai company
