threePointFive··on Projected File System
I would love to see this functionality exposed more generally. One thing I thought was cool in ReactOS was the ability to explore the registry as part of the file explorer. Powershell also exposes similar functionality (like the HKLM: drive) but being able to access that through common tools like Explorer would make the Windows internals feel much more approachable.
threePointFive··on Python types have an expectations problem
I had to check this because my intuition told me that this would generate a warning. GCC and Clang both warn about that assignment with -Wsign-conversion, however that doesn't seem to be enabled with any of -Wall, -Wextra, or -Wpendatic and only clang's -Weverthing would catch it if you weren't specifically looking for it.
threePointFive··on Firefox Sync actually works
FF Sync doesnt work by backing up your config directory to some cloud storage. That would be a recipe for disaster since your profile has certain machine specific settings configured automatically by the browser. When you enable Sync you get to explicitly decide which things you want to include in the sync. I have mine set to just addons, configs, and bookmarks.
threePointFive··on Microsoft pulls OneDrive update that would quiz you before letting you quit
In my circles, personal Windows PCs have gone almost entirely away. Chromebooks are massively popular, but most people do everything on a phone/tablet. In the PC market, gaming is the only thing keeping Windows relevant, and each Proton update shrinks that market segment.
threePointFive··on Microsoft pulls OneDrive update that would quiz you before letting you quit
My company switched off of perfectly working SMB shares to OneDrive + SharePoint about a year ago and it has been the singlehanded biggest generator of helpdesk tickets since. I'm trying to get corporate to let me use rclone since I can at least tell it to push/pull a specific file instead of waiting for OneDrive to finish "syncing changes".
threePointFive··on Monaspace
Theoretically, anything based on xterm should have the capability for it. ESC[<10-19>m is the escape sequence to pick font 0-9. In practice though, is a different question. I use Alacritty, but I cannot find if this is supported and trying to do it myself isn't getting any results.
threePointFive··on Helix 23.10 Highlights
I used Helix for a while due to its support for LSP out-of-the-box, which my Vim config at the time couldn't live up to. I switched back to NeoVim after finding LunarVim[1] which had everything I was trying to get setup in my own config.
