thomasdavis··on Show HN: lightweight Blog / Tumblelog engine "embr"
If I saw this before github/jekyll I would probably use it.

Does the software handle SEO which would be a selling point for me when considering a blogging platform

thomasdavis··on Show HN: Fitocracy, an RPG for fitness
I actually don't agree with these points. I like the design and didn't have any negative sentiments towards it.

I didn't seem to have performance issues.

I thought it was quite intuitive and I quite liked the Save Workout page.

I enjoyed the activity stream and seeing what other routines and weights people we're doing.

I like that the site seemed to have dedicated knowledgeable people as opposed to out of shape geeks.

You should link us to your profiles, I'd like to see what you lift =D
thomasdavis··on “Forever Alone” 4chan Prank Brings Out the Best and Worst of the Internet
For a tech community forum I find this reply quite odd. You pay for many useful internet utilities. I don't see why a simple dating website can't charge so they can make a living.

It's not like going to a social event in real life doesn't have expenses.

Also if your hobbies are programming and gym you will have a hard time finding ladies.

If you don't like drinking or have children that takes out bars.

thomasdavis··on “Forever Alone” 4chan Prank Brings Out the Best and Worst of the Internet
I am not sure who keeps perpetuating the misconception that internet dating makes you socially inept.

I find it intriguing that I have the opportunity to develop feelings for someone who has only presented themselves lyrically.

thomasdavis··on How to cause utter chaos on Facebook
The Dropbox link went down quite fast, it was mirrored by another site nearly instantly and the hack remained in working condition. Then I'm guessing Facebook took down the App and deleted all the comments that were spread.
thomasdavis··on How to cause utter chaos on Facebook
Wasn't me and I don't understand this comment.
thomasdavis··on How to cause utter chaos on Facebook
Makes a vulgar post on a users wall, if the user clicks "Remove this app" it then post it to all your friends walls.

Reddits reaction thus far http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/search?q=nicole+santos

Edit: I think facebook has already taken it down, it lasted about 30 minutes.

thomasdavis··on The Last Post
How much of a tear jerker was the last sentence?

"I loved you deeply, I loved you, I loved you, I loved you."

thomasdavis··on Flattr no longer requires users to spend money in order to receive money
Not working for me either
thomasdavis··on Showoff
Yes indeed, not as easy as "show 80" though
thomasdavis··on Showoff
Man, the whole site was a pleasant experience to browse. I was browsing it because it was just fun to.

The idea is perfect and I encounter this problem daily and always too lazy to bother setting up a dynamic dns.

Signing up for an unlimited plan right now.

Well done.

thomasdavis··on Spine -- A lightweight framework for building JavaScript web applications
The only thing Spine seems to have really tackled is "Collection/Model synchronization" which in my opinion should have just been built as an extension to backbone.

Copying the website element for element and 90% of the design paradigm from backbone.js would have been semi-acceptable to me if the author elaborated more on the comparison between backbone in his FAQ.

"Lastly, Spine is much simpler and half the size, go and check out the source."

"Much simpler" seems like a huge call to make and it has been nice to see Jeremy refute all claims by spine.js thus far.

Edit: Also I don't think Backbone.js should receive any negative points for naming conventions. MVC has such a diluted definition that it barely matters how a framework chooses to implement it.

I agree this looks miles ahead of the competitors, the admin panel is superb.

The most usable client for feedback, knowledge base and support that I have ever seen and my clients will be super happy.
