> Rich folks only need so many mansions, yachts and designer sweat pants. This would further shift the burden of taxes onto lower income folks who spend 100% of what they earn.

This is a feature not a bug of that plan. There’s no amount of tax that’s too low when the answer to “How much do you need to be happy?” is more.

thisarticle··on Pictures: South America's 'lithium fields' reveal dark side of electric future
There’s so much FUD in this article it’s hard to know where to start. I wonder if the author has ever seen what coal mining does to a region.

thisarticle··on The biggest threat facing middle-age men is loneliness (2017)
That’s hyperbole though isn’t it? Like no one is saying men should abandon their families, only that maybe they shouldn’t have to dedicate so much of their time to family to not be viewed as a deadbeat.

thisarticle··on Epic is asking a court to stop Google from yanking Bandcamp off the Play Store
More and more it looks like Epic just wants access to these major platforms and wants other companies and developers to pay for it.
thisarticle··on Experience Report: 6 months of Go
I feel like this is a much more fair and well written blog post than the other Go blog post from a few days ago.

> I have a high salary (350K USD), which is problematic .. it makes going to small companies hard to stomach (I see engineering managers get paid 150K in some small companies) and the larger companies (FANG-Amazon) pay a lot more but seem impossible for me to get into.

My condolences. Ooof.
