I'm very much interested in this issue as a whole and not just singling out Facebook as if they're the only bad actors. I'd appreciate letting that discussion take place rather than using some newly minted word to try and stifle it.
Think about how many times you see a post like this on HN: "I barely use facebook. I just keep it for <some random purpose>".
Pimping my son != Pimping my son's ride
Understand vpn's, understand public VPN providers, evaluate the risk for whatever you're trying to do.
Do you think there's science backing up that "black people are innately less intelligent than white people"?
I also accept that we should do better in Geography. That'd be swell.
Ordinary citizens do not vote on issues affecting an individual country. I'm sorry, you're just going to have to accept the fact that not all Americans are well educated.
Your comparison of US Policemen and French soldiers isn't fair. I've known a couple people from France of Algerian descent, you can imagine their opinion of French police isn't too dissimilar of yours about US police.
Americans knowledge of geography could certainly be improved. I don't think it means anything negative about the people though.
How wasteful that would be to throw it out. Personally I do feel like it's a moral obligation to make an attempt to send it back.
What I meant is I'm not tired of the Tolkien universe and would welcome more. That's not to say I enjoyed the hobbit series whatsoever. For instance, I'd love to see another director try their hand at a Hobbit series on television. At least then I could pretend the Jackson-led Hobbit series didn't exist.
I don't want to spoil anything but there are multiple characters that exist in both, though obviously younger since season 2 takes place some thirty years before season 1. Some of it is subtle but very interesting once you realize it. I don't want to hint at it more so as not to spoil it.
In effect each season stands alone, you're correct that there's not much world building.
I don't know - I've never thought to myself "I've had enough Tolkien stories represented in film". I'd love to see another representation.

It then had some button, I forgot what the button said. This led to the screen about "save the date" for protection.
They gave me a date in September that I have to remember to come back and sign up for. It's the equivalent of grabbing a ticket in the deli line.
Look at this text: "Please be sure to mark your calendar as you will not receive additional reminders. On or after your enrollment date, please return to faq.trustedidpremier.com and click the link to continue through the enrollment process".
That's enraging. You tell me I'm affected and now I have to come back at some date/time and sign up? At least it has given me the time to read all the comments about waiving class action participation.
Interesting takes on the memo. This part stood out to me.
I'm not really in a situation where I have many coworkers around but, just knowing myself, I can say I likely would be someone that would have stayed silent on the topic unless it was specifically brought up. That's more about my personality than anything, I generally avoid starting conversations because I'm bad at small talk.
I'd like to know what I can do differently. My opinion generally mirrors the thoughts put forward by the female engineers but I feel like maybe I've let someone in my life down by not being more vocal and supportive. Really the only thing I've done is tried to encourage female coworkers in non-development positions to try it out, and offer them help. I've tried to nudge our hiring team to look at a more diverse crowd - though that's hampered by low wages and living very literally in one of the more remote parts of the country (our town has 3.5k people and is considered a large town for our region). I guess I'm saying I want to do more but I don't know what to do without seeming disingenuous.
Hey, how come you dressed my grandmother up as a mugger? Shut up and get off the set. Action! Push her towards Chuck! (Karate noises) Wow, he kicked her head right off her body! Did you see that? Did you see my Grammy? She's out of her misery, you've seen the greatest film of all time!"
