About #2: There is a fact here that you realize - I guess, that users will visit your website from Google paid adveritising. They chose your website - so you should not disappoint them. Also you should choose the keywords carefully, and make sure that who search for these keywords is searching for your website! You can make a benchmark for 2 campaigns, to see which keywords work better, if you are confused about the best keywords to use.
Also about optimizing the homepage... Users are more likely to have an idea about your website, even before they visit it - simply because they visited your website based on the keywords. Whatever, you should make the landing page ready to use for the users!
I hope I am not confusing you, so I will give you an example. If users are searching for a service like uploading and sharing photos, you should make the landing page with a demo video to show users why they should use your service, and upload box to use your photo uploading service. [this is an example] Also give them a clue why your service is better than other services, like: unlimited storage, easy sharing, and all the benifits.
Talking about benifits... you should not talk about the features of your website! You should mention the benifits.
Sorry for making it long, but I did not have time to make it shorter, Good luck for you.
Passion for the startup, and ready to spend 18 hrs daily - if needed - just for the sake of making the startup in a leading position.
But the problem that you won't be sure if the applicant for the CEO job really has these abilities or not. You can know it, only if he/she has a history record!
When it comes to intentions, it is NOT easy to prove it!
Did you use your own algorithm for it?

Although you are looking like a bot! Your account was created 7 minutes ago?
But it was down today, at least for me.
About the SEC, I saw that PayPal started something... they take the money you have in your paypal account, and use it for invesments, and it's NOT covered by SEC. I read that at PayPal.
What do you think?
EDIT: About lawyers, well... believe me, I have no money! I am not raising the money for the sake of raising money, because I think that raising funds is a "serious responsibility", but I am raising it because I am running out of money, and I am owed!
There is another entry about justin.tv's down - the duplicated one, and I also suspect that who wrote it is a bot too!
I am afraid of that HN would being face another type of spam attack... but I am not sure.

After hanging up my Internet explorer 7 browser for 2 minutes (and was about being crashed), it worked hardly fine... The icons of Flickr, TC, and webmynd history don't show up... it's down.
But on the other side, if the legal work papers for documenting the investment will cost a fortune and has many restrictions, and I won't even be able to do it because I am not in U.S....
Is it possible to treat the shares as virtual product? What about if I work around this and say... yeah these are shares but we will treat it as virtual product, just like the virtual gifts that people buy on facebook and hi5.
But you will take advantage of buying this virtual product/gift, that you will be able to resell it to me after a year with higher price, or you can keep it and get devidends...
And by buying the virtual product, you own percentage in the startup...
What do you think?
I am just discussing the idea, I want to know if it's possible to do it or not. I am not here to sell the shares, I just want to know the opinion of the people... would they buy in it or not?
Potshot? And why companies really go public and raise funds? Don't they do it for "potshot"? As I know, that any company goes public and have stocks, they do it to get cash money quickly to invest in their infrastrucutre or implement new plans, just instead of applying for loans from bank. Am I right or wrong?
Sometimes I make 3 or 4 comments on a submission that I wish I could down-vote it.
Thank you so much for your explanation, I really appreciate it.
2- I optimized the homepage to make it ready to use for the users without having to signup. So when the users visited the homepage, they knew what they should do - it was clear to them.
3- I added Google adwords' code for conversion on another page to measure if the users will reach to the point I want them to. Google Adwords will provide you with a code that you put on the target page that you want users to reach to, and if they do, then it means for you that they acheived your target. For example, if you ask users at the home page to signup, then you add that code at the other page that will be for completed signup.
4- I found more than 90% of the people reached that target page, and I was so glad that I made something people want and would use.
It was a service that I provided online. I did not make signup because I just wanted to know if users would even be interested in using this service or not, and for how long.
I was so glad with the results.
If you want free $50 Google Adwords coupon code, I don't mind sharing it with you.
I am talking about the "www" which is the acronym of "world wide web", and it's automatically assigned to any domain name, so usually domain.com and www.domain.com points to the same host, unles if the sysadmin changes it which rarely happens.
I am talking about the "www." and NOT any other subdomain that the sysadmin/webmaster can add/change or remove.
I am sorry if you misunderstand what I am talking about.
EDIT: I am using Internet explorer 7, on windows XP.
EDIT: [It works fine in Google Chrome, whatever... maybe the problem happens because you move the user to https link? I am not sure, but could this be a reason?]
You are using flash. Can you please use SwfObject, so users with high security in their browsers, don't have to click on the flash to activate it? I hope you understand what I mean.
SwfObject project is here: http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/
Thanks in advance.
Whatever, what is the point of your question? If you want such domain names, it's possible to buy it through Godaddy international domain names.
I have doubts that the name of this domain is written in "Arabic letters" but I am not sure but it looks chinese too. Anyway, it's possible to buy domain names with such letters, and if you want me to write any arabic word for you that would appear in such shapes - like the arrow, I can try doing it for you. I am native Arabian, from Cairo, Egypt.
I hope this is the proper answer!
The problem is that the submission script does not consider that www.domain.com/some-article/ is the same as domain.com/some-article/, and looks at them as 2 different links... so it does not consider them duplicated, while it is!
Also consider taking a look at: http://www.startuply.com/ which contains jobs at startups, and some of it at the bay area. Startuply is a YCombinator's startup. :)
Good luck for you.
Why do you assume that I can visit TechCrunch? I see no reason for your assumption?
And I can't, simply because I can't go to America.
