thefounder··on The Road to the WASM Component Model 1.0
It’s great we are past the “wasm is not replacing JavaScript” phase. Or “you don’t need DOM for wasm . That’s what JavaScript is for”
thefounder··on Cybersecurity researchers aren't happy about the guardrails on Anthropic's Fable
They will give you s*t output, that’s how they deal with it. And say that less than 1% of the requests were affected. Think of this like a kind of shadow ban while you still pay top $.
thefounder··on Cybersecurity researchers aren't happy about the guardrails on Anthropic's Fable
So the enshitification started. Shadow “bans” while still charging you the same service fee. I already got the stupid cyber warnings on a non cybersecurity tasks.

Basically in the middle of the project’s /goal while Fable itself tried to probe qemu for a Debian ISO install without any instruction from me to hack it or do anything nefarious.

At this point I can’t trust them with any kind of prompt . It will most likely degrade in stupid ways on non AI/ML stuff as well due its own internal prompt construction.(the qemu test showed me it does that on cyber stuff). So I guess I have to still use opus 4.8 (along with codex) and when the right time comes drop Anthropic in favor the best model that is not gpt.

thefounder··on Policy on the AI Exponential
This guy can’t stay a day without posting something more or less “ban open source AI”. We keep you safe
thefounder··on Spoiling Linux Kernel with "sanctioned" code
I guess the Russians will have to learn the Chinese way and perhaps the Chinese language as well?
thefounder··on AWS Bedrock to require sharing data with Anthropic for Mythos and future models
Well I have just tested it and GPT 5.5 is still smarter. It catches bugs that Fable doesn’t. Anthropic Fable is basically still sloppy like Opus 4.x. And I got also the downgrade for “cyber violations” trying to build a custom Debian ISO…that tells me their safeguards are sh**. I didn’t ask it to hack anything. Just to make a script that builds a custom Debian distribution with various settings…so this Fable thing seems like a flop&slop already. That warning plus the privacy change is the wake up call to move from Anthropic
thefounder··on AWS Bedrock to require sharing data with Anthropic for Mythos and future models
You got it right! Regulations are just for small guys! You don’t see agents after Anthropic’s CEO or after Sam Altman as we’ve seen on Kim Dotcom
thefounder··on AWS Bedrock to require sharing data with Anthropic for Mythos and future models
You can see already a lot of PR from Anthropic on this(ban the unsafe open source) in all major newspapers(I.e WSJ,Ft etc).
thefounder··on AWS Bedrock to require sharing data with Anthropic for Mythos and future models
They want your data like you everybody else and enterprise data is juicy to say at least
thefounder··on Field of clones: How horse replicas came to dominate polo
I am not sure if the Einsteins you clone would do what you want. Maybe they will want to be influencers on short video platforms.
thefounder··on Google to pay SpaceX $920M a month for compute capacity at xAI data centers
I am pretty sure the gov gets an uncensored /heretic version of the AI models instead of the nanny stuff we get so Grok really doesn’t have a “killer” feature. Even for multi model passes(I.e used purely as a contrarian gate) it’s not really that great due the high rate of hallucinations.
thefounder··on Google to pay SpaceX $920M a month for compute capacity at xAI data centers
Grok is just DOA. No need to beat a dead horse. Even Musk got that thus the reason why he is renting the stuff it planned for Grok.
thefounder··on Google to pay SpaceX $920M a month for compute capacity at xAI data centers
Wow…sounds like some kindergarten stuff
thefounder··on S&P 500 rejects SpaceX, also blocking entry for OpenAI and Anthropic
Yeah like Cisco in 2000
thefounder··on Alphabet announces $80B equity capital raise to expand AI infra and compute
People stop searching (aka googling). They just want to do stuff with AI and Google’s AI stuff is bad. That’s my whole point.
thefounder··on Alphabet announces $80B equity capital raise to expand AI infra and compute
Even if they include ads in Gemini the issue is that Gemini is not the best AI app. It’s maybe the 3rd or 4th. So if Google becomes the 3rd best “search/AI engine” the future is not that bright.
thefounder··on Anthropic surpasses OpenAI to become most valuable AI startup
the answer is : I usually let it do its thing with bypass permission and I run the max plan so nothing really matters except the "result". I think Claude is faster and has better UX integration with vscode but I wouldn't use it without GPT 5.5 XHigh as reviewer.Claude is just sloppy. Eventually I think it will not matter much in 1 -2 years. Most AI models will be good enough for most tasks so you may need the best of the best only if you do very complex stuff (i.e. optimizations etc)
thefounder··on Claude Opus 4.8
>>> completely different

Why ? because it costs more money ? Tell that to the content creators whose content is scrapped / distilled by these entitled scrappers

thefounder··on Claude Opus 4.8
I don’t mind if they scrape the scrappers.
thefounder··on Claude Opus 4.8
>> As part of Project Glasswing, a small number of organizations are currently using Claude Mythos Preview

Just f** off! I can’t wait for the Chinese models to catch up and bring these entitled as** holes down.

thefounder··on Was my $48K GPU server worth it?
If you buy Mac get at least 256GB ram otherwise just buy a bunch of nvidia cards. It really does not make sense otherwise if you are looking for performance / $. The mac (studio) is unique as it has more ram than the alternatives(I.e consumer nvidia cards or spark stuff) so it can fit bigger models but otherwise its performance is worse.
thefounder··on Was my $48K GPU server worth it?
Something is very wrong in some countries if you have to get police protection to sell a f* computer. I get it’s on the expensive side but still….
thefounder··on The US is betting on AI to catch insider trading in prediction markets
Can it catch Trump?
thefounder··on If AI writes your code, why use Python?
So he includes Go in a list of languages that apparently makes development slow and have “a build system that fought you” and then says python was the solution for all that. I think he got it backwards. I have found the Python build system horrific and broken by default while Go just works.
thefounder··on If AI writes your code, why use Python?
Why we have discussions about sexual orientation on programming languages? Could this really go any worse?
thefounder··on Local AI needs to be the norm
Cloud providers have incentives to release open source models but for some reasons this happens only in China. Amazon, Azure, Google benefit from open source models because people run them on their hardware.
thefounder··on SpaceX wants to launch a million satellites
So there must be a big story for the IPO….Remember that Tesla is still not selling actual/real self driving cars. I would say stock wise it would worth it to gable b/c Tesla did so well but SpaceX is being IPO-ed as it would have already have datacenters in space and ride hailing to Mars
thefounder··on Local AI needs to be the norm
Next year there will be Opus 4.5 level available on open source models so theoretically you may be able to run it locally but in reality it will be too expensive (i.e maybe 2 x max Studio 512GB ram each) for “normal” users.
thefounder··on Gemini API File Search is now multimodal
I never felt Gemini was ever better than the OpenAI or Anthropic. I think it’s more on par with open source models than the top 2
thefounder··on Mojo 1.0 Beta
I must admit that I’ve tried python in my early days and indentation was the main reason why I just didn’t pursue the language further. It felt just brittle and hard to read. Of course if I had be forced I would have probably managed to master it but I had the freedom to use whatever I wanted as programming language and python was just not an attractive option.(despite being seduced by its “zen” and all that. Felt like form over function design.

The “build”/run/deploy system was the other major issue. All the python versions, virtual env etc seemed like a mess. A compiled language is so much better(I.e Go, Rust etc) IMHO.
