theanonymousone··on Notepad++ Code Editor Comes to Mac After 20-Year Wait
This was on HN a few days ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47916964

, and there it was mentioned that it is __not__ an official port and has nothing to do with the original Notepad++ author!

theanonymousone··on Waymo in Portland
Haha. Somehow I mistook this to be related to Wayland.
theanonymousone··on GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing
You can use Copilot extension with OpenRouter (among others).

And yes, I need to find a solution for autocomplete. It used to be available in free tier of Copilot. Not sure anymore.

theanonymousone··on GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing
Can you elaborate please? I still clone my private repos and work on them using OpenRouter Credits and OpenCode (or Copilot itself: It supports OpenRouter BYOK). No?
theanonymousone··on GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing
I'm already on Pro. Why should I keep it?
theanonymousone··on GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing
Something is hilariously off here: Why should I pay $10 and be forced to use it by the end of the month, while I can pay $10 and have it last as long as I want?

Their "API pricing" is exactly the same as that of providers: https://docs.github.com/en/copilot/reference/copilot-billing...

theanonymousone··on Notepad++ for Mac – Independent community port
My "Notepad++ for Mac" so far has been NotepadNext (https://github.com/dail8859/NotepadNext). I will give this one a try as well, and wish them best of luck. I hope they release the Linux version as well.

Where is the GPT 5.5 Pelican?
theanonymousone··on Changes to GitHub Copilot Individual Plans
Same for me. I would still be happy with my Copilot Pro subscription if I could use 5.4 with 1x coefficient (and 5.4 mini with 0.33x).

But seeing that they are stopping to get new subscriptions, and rumours/evidence that they plan to increase coefficients of remaining models, it seems they want us to see "the writing on the wall"

theanonymousone··on €54k spike in 13h from unrestricted Firebase browser key accessing Gemini APIs
But isn't OpenRouter anyway prepaid, meaning the most you lose is your current credit?
theanonymousone··on All elementary functions from a single binary operator
Zero will also be handy in definitions: `0=eml(1,eml(eml(1,1),1))`.

And i is obviously `sqrt(-1)`

theanonymousone··on All elementary functions from a single binary operator
I changed the prompt to this:

""" Consider a mathematical function EML defined as `eml(x,y)=exp(x)−ln(y)`

Please produce `sin(x)/x` as a composition on EMLs and constant number 1 (one). """

theanonymousone··on Ask HN: Why does it look like everyone is abandoning GitHub Copilot?
Is it? I use it both personally and professionally (with two different accounts), and find it very good value for price.
theanonymousone··on Claude Code Down
How much is remaining until the last 9 is gone too?
theanonymousone··on Delve sets the record straight on anonymous attacks
The founder is a Forbes 30u30 according to his X profile. As they say, you can't make these things up.
theanonymousone··on Claude Code's source code has been leaked via a map file in their NPM registry
I believe GitHub can and does suspend accounts that use such proxies.
theanonymousone··on Claude Code's source code has been leaked via a map file in their NPM registry
I am waiting now for someone to make it work with a Copilot Pro subscription.
theanonymousone··on Tell HN: Some tech companies use .so domains, despite no connection to Somalia
Do they explicitly exclude "foreigners" from registering?

I read that Tuvalo earns a good portion of their GDP from .tv domain sales.

theanonymousone··on Show HN: Email.md – Markdown to responsive, email-safe HTML
I hope .md domains do not become a security hole as Markdown raises in popularity...
theanonymousone··on New version of Omarchy is "out-of-the-box compatible" with Dell XPS Pantherlake
The last time I did this was very long ago, but still I was surprised that of all things, the WiFi didn't work (some Intel issue). Newer laptops also have "accessories" such as fingerprint reader, touch bar etc which may not be trivial to get to work.

And anyways, the interesting part of the link for me was official collaboration from Dell, although I couldn't fit it within the title.

theanonymousone··on TeX Live 2026 is available for download now
A WASM version of (La)TeX plus a decent IDE would be amazing. I'm wondering if such a thing exists.
theanonymousone··on Building a new Flash
Isn't that Flutter, i.e. an exotic language plus skipping DOM and drawing into a canvas?
theanonymousone··on MacBook Neo
How will the A chip fare for LLM-based use cases, compared the M series?

And will we have software compatibility issues because of A versus M issues?

theanonymousone··on I'm losing the SEO battle for my own open source project
I saw this some time ago with Bing and OpenCode:

"If I search for "opencode GitHub" in Bing, a random fork is returned"

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46573286

theanonymousone··on Show HN: Timber – Ollama for classical ML models, 336x faster than Python
Wouldn't it be much more useful if the request received raw input (i.e. before feature extraction), and not the feature vector?
theanonymousone··on Cronboard: A terminal-based dashboard for managing cron jobs
Slso in your own submissions page: https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=antoniorodr

Very weird indeed:/

theanonymousone··on Cronboard: A terminal-based dashboard for managing cron jobs
I searched for "cronboard" before making the submission, and still cannot open the link you sent :/
theanonymousone··on Cronboard: A terminal-based dashboard for managing cron jobs
Good you are here. I was surprised you hadn't posted it here yet.
theanonymousone··on Why Developers Keep Choosing Claude over Every Other AI
Claude the model or Claude (Code) the tool? I'm not sure what to think about an article that doesn't make it clear which one they are talking about...
