thameera··on Tricki, a repository of mathematical know-how
For anyone looking for a good resource for improving their mathematical problem solving (especially for the Olympiad level), I highly recommend the Art of Problem Solving wiki. [1]

That homepage isn't very informative, but you can search for any topic and find explanations and problems that can be solved from that. For example: radical axis [2]

If you're looking for a book, The Art and Craft of Problem Solving by Paul Zeitz is the most recommended.

This is great! It's rather suprising why an all-round HN app app isn't available in the App Store.

What does the up arrow in the top right of comments section supposed to do?

P.S. I also got the same error as jamescostian when trying to comment from the app.

thameera··on Ask HN: How do you familiarize yourself with a new codebase?
Thanks! Gonna give this a try.
thameera··on Choosing good names
How would you use ints when there's division in the code? I've heard it's usually better to prefer ints to floating points, but in my limited experience I've found that it's easier said than done.
thameera··on Choosing good names
I guess you mean typedefs and not separate classes for Money, TaxPercentage etc.

I recently came across a codebase that implement type classes for almost all types of things it handles and found that to be overkill. Almost always, name and age can be represented by a string and an integer respectively; separate Name and Age classes just reduce the readability in your code.

How many active users did you have in your peak? And how large was your server to support them?

Anybody knows a similar analysis tool for an SVN project? One option would be to convert the SVN to git for analysis purposes, but I'd be interested in a better solution.
thameera··on Pip -t: A simple and transparent alternative to virtualenv in Python
PYTHONUSERBASE seems like a superior idea than any others to me. Wonder why it is not popular.
thameera··on Why is Stack not Cabal?
For a new project, is ditching Cabal altogether and using Stack recommended?
thameera··on Facebook PathPicker
Except for commands like git add.
thameera··on Google to Hacker News: Not Mobile-Friendly
I'm yet to come across a good iOS app for HN that is both visually pleasing and is not just a reader (i.e. lets me submit/post comments).
thameera··on Google to Hacker News: Not Mobile-Friendly
Isn't it the web designer's responsibility to provide enough metadata so that the browser can actually reflow the content without breaking the intended flow? Correctly reflowing a website doesn't sound like something a program could do without knowing enough context.
thameera··on Google to Hacker News: Not Mobile-Friendly
Except most browsers don't reflow the text correctly so you have to horizontally scroll.

What mobile browser do you use?
thameera··on Distraction is a kind of obesity of the mind
I've been using Morphine for Chrome[1] for some time. It sorta gamifies the whole thing.

thameera··on Show HN: Get pinged when standards hit 90% browser support
This is pretty useful!

As an aside, please consider sending a confirmation email to the address and subscribing only afterwards.

thameera··on Show HN: HN Notifications – Get an email when a HN story matches your criteria
This is great!

I would like to receive notifications for stories about OS X. It looks like this is currently not possible since the keywords are space-separated?

EDIT: Also please allow non-alphanumeric keywords like C++?

Maybe they had blocked the IP instead of the domain name? They surely have a different IP address now.

I use Workflowy everyday to take notes, organize thoughts etc. But I doubt it's a good enough contender for maintaining a to-do list.
thameera··on Algorithms in C/C++
I've been implementing a similar set of algorithms. Should resume again. https://github.com/thameera/cppalgo

Is there a similar tool to see what a certain option in a command does, without opening the man page?

thameera··on Go Replace - simple and fast search and replace tool for command line
Exactly. gr can be for find/sed like ack is for grep.
thameera··on Practice typing for Code
Yes, we'll be adding lessons for these characters soon. In fact, we're going to re-structure all the lessons.
thameera··on Practice typing for Code
Yeah, only QWERTY is implemented as yet. Do you mean that the highlight color of the key is not noticeable?
thameera··on Practice typing for Code
Permalinks for lessons sounds good. Thanks!
thameera··on Practice typing for Code
We tried to make it like a code editor that only has auto indentation. Thanks for your suggestions, we'll look into how we could improve this.
