telaelit··on YouTube bans Stefan Molyneux, David Duke, Richard Spencer for hate speech
It's about time.
telaelit··on Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone
I love CHAZ so much, I hope it becomes a national trend.

If city councils would defund the police and use the money for actual good things then we wouldn’t have this problem of police brutality and police being above the law. But no, the police need to buy tanks ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

telaelit··on DuckDuckGo, Google, and Android choice screens
I use DDG for all my general searching, but I've found that Google is better for searching for technical things. So I haven't stopped using Google Search completely :(
telaelit··on Grafana 7.0
I love Grafana so much!! Keep up the great work!!
telaelit··on Ask HN: People who rejected a FAANG offer. Why?
Didn’t want to sell my soul to a heartless company that exploits workers. I’d rather be part of the solution and build products and services for unions, non-profits, and movement organizing.
telaelit··on Making Emacs Popular Again
vi > emacs

If you disagree you're either just a troll or lying to yourself

telaelit··on Gig workers are organising in tech-savvy ways
I wish my company would organize and unionize
telaelit··on Bye, Amazon
Finally someone who actually cares about his workers. I wish more higher ups cared this much about us
telaelit··on EU antitrust regulators say they are investigating Google's data collection
Finally. Google should be broken up, they have WAYYY too much power
telaelit··on Google Fires Four Workers, Including Staffer Tied to Protest
This is just the start. As software becomes less specialized and more engineers are less skilled (ie. coming from boot camps, self taught, etc), you’ll see a lot more organizing efforts which means more union busting. Workers deserve rights, including the right to organize.
telaelit··on All Magic Leap Patents Have Been Assigned to J.P. Chase Morgan as Collateral
Big businesses taking over, yet again.
telaelit··on California's Assembly Votes to Allow Communists to Hold State Jobs
What do you mean by “US way of life”? Do you mean how US billionaires live? How the middle class lives? How people in New York live? How people in rural Idaho live? How people in Puerto Rico live? How poor people live? How people in Silicon Valley live? How immigrants live?

The US is a big country with countless ways of life. I’m not sure what you mean.

telaelit··on We are leaving the Apple App Store and all its problems
Besides some Apple applications, I don’t think I’ve ever used the AppStore to install an application.
telaelit··on We are leaving the Apple App Store and all its problems
Leaving the AppStore doesn’t mean they can’t create MacOS applications. Most MacOS applications aren’t even installed via the AppStore.
telaelit··on On Recent Controversial Events
Very thoughtful and nuanced post-mortem. I generally agree with what he had to say.

I think I’m more on the side of thinking leaders should be moral people and not think that pedophilia is defensible. I do believe people in power should be held accountable.

I think “cancel culture” is the wrong term to use, I think is accountable culture. If you think it’s okay to demean woman and defend someone exploiting young girls because his sex trafficker friend gives his institution lots of money, then I think you’re a bad person.

Free speech doesn’t mean you’re free from consequences.

telaelit··on Ask HN: PostgreSQL or MySQL?
MongoDB
telaelit··on Anti-union activity is heating up ahead of Google contractor's vote to unionize
We should all unionize IMHO
telaelit··on California Approves Statewide Rent Control
It’s about time. Landlords have been exploiting tenants in California (and across the US) for far too long.
telaelit··on Joi Ito Resigns from M.I.T. Media Lab After Outcry over Jeffrey Epstein Ties
He raped and trafficked underage girls. He video taped them and flaunted them around powerful people. You really want to defend a monster like that?
telaelit··on Here's what I've learned about climate change and it's terrifying
Thank you for this
telaelit··on Firefox has lots of room to improve if it wants to beat Chrome
I switched to Firefox from Chrome a few months ago, and I love it so far. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I think Firefox is great ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
telaelit··on U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory: Marijuana Use and the Developing Brain
When I was 16 I started smoking weed almost everyday until I was 20, I took a break until I was 22, and now I live in a legal state and I enjoy a joint or two on the weekends. I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I work as a software engineer and I got all As throughout school.

I realize this might not be the case for everyone, but that has been my experience.

telaelit··on Amazon wants to control third-party sellers’ product pricing
All hail our Amazon overlords
telaelit··on Watch Out Google, YouTubers Are Unionizing
Good. It's about time.
telaelit··on The ABCs of Personal Finance (2014)
I realize this article was written in 2014, but a $600 rent + utilities is insane! I'm easily paying 3x as much.
telaelit··on Maine Governor Signs Strictest Internet Protections in the U.S.
Yes. This is what should be done on a federal level, but I'm glad states are starting to take up the issue of protecting their citizens.
telaelit··on Facebook plans cryptocurrency debut
I remember reading about company money in history books. Looks like we’re going back in time.
telaelit··on YouTube to Remove Thousands of Videos Pushing Extreme Views
And yet they’re not taking down Crowder’s homophobic videos??
telaelit··on Firefox Now Available with Enhanced Tracking Protection by Default
I can proudly say that I’ve ditched Chrome for Firefox for about a month now. The first few days were a little rough (migrating passwords and what not), but now I love it. Keep up the good work FF!
telaelit··on iPhone apps share data with trackers, ad companies and research firms
As an iOS developer, it’s insane to me that this isn’t common knowledge.
