I did not expect to see another islander on here. I saw a tool or report a few years ago that would show how much of the island would remain with different sea level rises but I cannot find it now.
I would think that Monsanto's patents are quite different. They use plant breeding to create new varieties. These patents of Myriad Genetics are just using DNA sequencing to find existing genes.
It will be really unfortunate if we cannot see the document before the election. I am not sure we can trust the government to give an honest assessment of it.
I was also wondering this. The problem with TPP coming into force with all the countries is that it sounds like a very interconnected document. For example, New Zealand wanted dairy access to the US, in return the US wanted dairy access to Canada. So if Canada does not ratify it, then then US dairy industry would get the short end of the stick.

Actually there is no evidence that contacts affect myopia progression. I had bifocals for many years as a teen under the same impression, but this has also been disproven. It is likely that any slow-down that you had in myopia progression was caused by your eye-ball size stabilizing.

Some languages use pronouns differently. Dutch people sometimes use "he" or "she" when referring to objects even when speaking English, because they are used to doing that in Dutch. So it could be that English is not his first language.
"Shit research" is not equal to negative findings. In fact it may be the opposite. I suspect most bad research has the positive findings the researchers are looking for.
