on the first three clicks. oh well...I agree that there's an optimal number of characters per line, but it doesn't necessarily mean you need huge fonts. just make your content more narrow, or use a multi-column layout.
I want to control my privacy 99% of the time, and unfortunately I can't seem to do it without plugins. yes, it's a pity that me protecting my privacy kills your website. yes, I'd rather all these measures weren't necessary, but we're at a point where I simply don't trust any third party, disqus included.
if all this screws your revenue, please use ad-providers that don't track me. there aren't any ? well shucks, looks like I won't visit your website anymore then.
(really, I wouldn't mind ads on a website, if that didn't also mean I'm tracked everywhere. as it is now, I block almost everything, using ghostery and/or disconnect, adblock(plus) and noscript. and I have no qualms about it).
my guess there's something wrong.
> When you use our [...] services Twilio may collect from you the following personally identifiable information: [...] and phone number. [...] Twilio may keep a cached copy of the content you serve us as a part of your use of the service for an indeterminate amount of time
although I believe your good intentions that doesn't imply I trust Twilio...
Don't know about 'hacker bias', but yes, I'm a dev that's grown up on xterms (on huge monitors), and use IDE's fullscreen at fontsizes a lot smaller than those of a medium blog (now _that_ would be a waste of screen space ;))
I see your point, but imho font sizes like OPs feel like a large print edition book held about a foot in front of my face. I guess it's mostly a matter of taste.
I still don't get the 'large print' trend. Yes, I've read all the so-called 'pro's', but the content still looks ridiculously sparse to me.
I'm 40+ and I should probably wear glasses for reading, but I really don't 'get' the big font hype.
I agree nonetheless. apart from the 'give me your passwords' example, that's not what privacy is about. 'automatically cc me all your incoming and outgoing email' might be a better analogy.
still not using that site though.
edit : my mistake. it seems that once you've used a ?share=1 link, that changes some cookies so after that you seem to always see everything
I don't know where this 'my-font-is-bigger-than-your-font"-trend started, but I can't wait for it to be over.
probably because it was a secret... duh... the way our (as in netherlands and EU) politicians are responding to these issues are so laughable it makes me depressed.
probably just tested in safari. preaching to their own choir I guess.
if "my space" was a brand, would they _really_ be able to forbid me to publish a book called "my space and time" based on that trademark ?
if they actually could, the world would be even sillier than previously thought. and I'd see it burn, gladly.
this is just silly.
he was never to be 'stripped' of something he built, the site and the subreddit have existed side by side for years. even if he loses his trademark, his site will continue to exist, and he's free to try and monetize that to his heart's content.
also, the sob-story about php and mysql sounds a bit off since he uses Invision Powerboard to host the whole site.
