I think that this is true, but didn't Obama have a massive wave of Pardons of people like this before he left office?
taheca··on Nestlé Takes Majority Stake in Blue Bottle
I posted this above a few times, thanks for reinforcing this with your own post.

This is HEINOUS behavior, and the primary reason I won't support any Nestle company or product.

quick plug for Equator Coffee. Their stuff is great. Woman owned business based in Mill Valley, CA
taheca··on Nestlé Takes Majority Stake in Blue Bottle
There is enough to disagree with Nestle about without even going into Water Rights.

What they do to women with their formula in developing nations is a crime. They miseducate them by telling them that Formula is better, give them free samples until their milk dries up, and then start charging them.

It's deplorable behavior, and as a result I refuse to buy any Nestle product.

Not according to Nancy Pelosi... why..<Laughing> this is OUR system my dear, and its the best so just stop talking about it.

It's their system. The Baby Boomers, and it is an abject failure.

We can create something better Hackernews. We just have to give a shit.

taheca··on Tesla Model S battery degradation data
Interesting fact.. with the last software update they changed what was considered trip, and local pretty significantly. I wonder if that is aligned to a SW improvement in battery management?
taheca··on Tesla Model S battery degradation data
were you driving it manually, or using Autodrive? Were you driving it conservatively, or heavy on the accelerator?

Did you stay at a consistent 55 - 60mph, or were you going faster?

There are a lot of factors in play for a electric vehicle.

taheca··on Ask HN: Mindfulness for Hackers
I really like the calm.com app.

I find mindfulness to be at the core of developing emotional intelligence, and self awareness. These are equally beneficial both privately, and professionally.

I strongly believe that the people listening to them right now, will be the future leaders of America. I hope to be one of them.
taheca··on The US Army is developing autonomous armored vehicles
Shhh... we are going to need to preserve our Guerilla methods dude.
taheca··on The US Army is developing autonomous armored vehicles
Those of us who grew up playing Civilization figured this out pretty quickly. War is fun, but is time consuming and costs enormous resources.

Much better to focus on science, and technology and grow peacefully.

taheca··on Is Mindfulness Meditation Bullshit?
I have ADD. I find Mindfulness to be extremely helpful in getting my mind focused for work.

I find it extremely helpful in regulating emotions, especially during times of heightened stress (i.e having small children freaking out on you, and acting appropriately).

Whether you hate the word or not, mindfulness, meditation, zen, don't discount the activity.

There is zero downside to becoming more self aware.

taheca··on Benefits of a Lifestyle Business
I do it in the bay area and I am NOT technical (though I do work in technology at a startup).

Of course this means that we have to be frugal at times, but the dividends it is paying in our three children's development is worth it.

This in so many ways, this. I have a bunch of ideas. If you can build stuff, we should talk. lol

taheca··on Tesla seeks to raise $1.5B to fund Model 3 production
With a process heavy on manual labor and a huge complicated supply chain making vehicles with over 2000 parts.

Tesla are working on making a dark factory. Completely automated and that moves a car along at 1M per minute.

That's because Toyota really does not want an electric vehicle. It wants the Mirai to take off, so that it can have dedicated customers for the fuel.

Just a more expensive version of a Razor and Blades scenario.
