Oh god. If google were regulated like a utility...we would be stuck with them instead of letting them go away by themselves.
And yes, one day google will fail and bring a bunch of companies with them.
" Forcing engineers to make changes to their creation is insane."
Really? Is it really insane to command employees to do what the company wants?
One of the biggest issues google has always had is allowing engineers to do what they want to get them to work on various platforms. Do you know how many thousands of hidden commands are in gmail?
Why would people be expected to leave their bias at home when they move?
Born, raised and still living in silicon valley and can easily say there are biases here the same as everywhere, yet can seem more magnified by being in a small pond with too many others and people cutting necks to get ahead to nowhere.
As one that was part of this industry for several decades I can say there was never a bias against female artists. Traditionally there were very few. The first appointment only shop in the US was female owned.
Nobody agrees on how it should work, what it needs, how to do it semi-anonymously, etc, etc.
On top of those issues is that it is the newest tech thing needed, so a lot jump into it as projects and a future business.
Unfortunately (maybe), you will learn that users will use your platform however they want to use it, and will demand you reverse basic ideas if it starts to grow.
Almost no agencies upgraded to 4G, way too expensive, about $500k.
If on android you can enter a code on device to force ONLY 4G to be used by the device.
Very much describes me.
I use cash for almost everything and have a credit score of 0 (zero)!
I don't use or have a use for credit.
18 months ago the company I worked for had a background check done on me. When the results came in I smiled, knowing I had been doing the right thing.
The results: this person barely exists. They went to school but there are no records of what happened, etc, etc, etc.
It is how some of us live our lives, always have always will.
I am over 50 y/o, born, raised, and still live in silicon valley.
Yes. Ditch being connected when you don't need to be and think several times before you connect...is it worth it.
That's what I have done for a very long time. Almost no data about me exists. I am also very heavy handed with permissions and apps on device. I don't even allow google to install the google app on my device.
Cisco has spent about $1b and millions of man hours to figure out the seconds market. As the first bootleg hits market, Cisco releases its next gen piece.
Always buy from authorized dealers.
