systemz··on Show HN: uFuzzy.js – A tiny, efficient fuzzy search that doesn't suck
From fuzzy search I expected that entering "super meet boy" or "super maet boy" will return "Super Meat Boy" but unfortunately currently it doesn't work this way and it's quite disappointing.

systemz··on IPv6 support for cloning Git repositories from GitHub
This was possible only for some time, now it's only enterprise option I'm afraid. For Free/Pro plan option is grayed out and API refuses to change it.
systemz··on Show HN: MyNotifier – Simple Notifications
Personally for me it's missing key feature - selectable, custom sounds (already working in Pushover) This allows to mentally prepare for situations like production down is much more important than home automation done and I want to instantly distinguish between them, not have heart attack every 1h.

Desktop app would be really nice, even in Pushover there is a lack of ability to get notification on my desktop and dismiss them both on desktop and mobile. Only strange web version with separate notification stream.

Price of myNotifier also seems pretty high vs Pushover, considering it doesn't have more features.

systemz··on “It’s time for Apple to fix texting”
Looks like Google started to think about EU's DSA / DMA compliance and created this article to have proof to EU commission "look, we tried but they refused!"
systemz··on Map showing birthplaces of "notable people" around the world
You can enable city names in left upper corner with "Show real place names" option
systemz··on YouTube banned my debunking video but leaves deadly how-to vids online, 34 dead
I hope YouTube will focus on human based moderation / curation of content and clean transparent guidelines in the future instead of those robots with flawed algorithms.

They have so many years and resources to create moderation robots but it keeps happening over and over again. At this point people are loosing lives because of poor YT decisions.

systemz··on Give up GitHub: The time has come
It's getting close to be hosted by gitea: https://github.com/go-gitea/gitea/issues/1029
systemz··on Apple Passkey
Maybe usage of user account password would allow for E2E without any device?
systemz··on Zee: A modern text editor for the terminal written in Rust
Please add binary to releases on github. Probably most of the users won't be Rust devs with cargo already available in path.
systemz··on QR Date – signed timestamps inside for verifying dates
From UX side, nice addition would be displaying time in local time zone from browser and/or additional list to select timezone/country on page with scanned QR code
systemz··on Phishing with an in-browser remote desktop
This method of phishing can't work with 2FA physical key like yubikey, right?
systemz··on New Thunderbird Releases and New Thunderbird Staff
I think you mistaken Discourse with Discord. Discourse is open source forum engine, the second is Slack-like but faster, with rich permissions system.
systemz··on Backblaze's Hard Drive Stats for Q2 2017
Increase simultaneous uploads or divide your backup into more parts and upload it simultaneously, works for me - uploading from OVH DCs, France.
systemz··on Afraid of Makefiles? Don't be
Instead of makefile I can recommend Taskfile https://hackernoon.com/introducing-the-taskfile-5ddfe7ed83bd

Simple to use without any magic.

systemz··on Introducing Cloud Functions for Firebase
Is there any protection for not spending fortune if your cloud function endpoint is DDoS attacked?
systemz··on What I found wrong in Docker 1.12
Docker team, please focus on one thing - packing apps to containers. Leave everything else to other projects, don't try to do everything wrong, just do one thing good. Thank you.
systemz··on Git 2.9 released
Are they planning to simplify standard day to day command from flag nightmare to something that mortal can actually remember?
systemz··on Is Caddy Free?
Giving something for free then creating paywall is IMHO bad idea, can be frustrating for a lot of people.

You should give something extra for price you want. Just look at Nginx plus etc. I wanted to use caddy in one of my projects but now I will just use nginx to have stable product. Sorry.

systemz··on iPhones 'disabled' if Apple detects third-party repairs
Has someone made unintentional medical joke with this error? It reminds me of https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/P53, which is responsible for apoptosis - programmed death of cell.
systemz··on Creolabs: Language, IDE and UI framework for building native apps
No Linux or Windows support?
systemz··on Docker for Beginners
I still prefer using automation like ansible or saltstack over docker. You can't run it on very popular OpenVZ VPS and it's another useless layer of abstraction with security holes in it.
