swader999··on I’m leaving OpenAI to build telepathy
I think I think I think it will be eventually.
swader999··on How A Gang of Thieves Pulled Off a Multimillion-Dollar Data Center Heist
I was hoping for a story where they took all the bank loan data and the backups.
swader999··on The Religion of Speed
There's decision speed and execution speed. You want to sometimes slow down decision speed and get this right. But then develop fast once the target is selected. Chopping wood - you don't slow down the axe swing - but you better be careful where you aim.
swader999··on Interview with Boris Cherny [video]
Yeah or config older than x days...
swader999··on Benchmarking Opus 5 on SlopCodeBench
Noticed that too. I wonder if these things just degrade over time, perhaps with the way it writes memories about my project as it goes
swader999··on It's getting harder to focus every day
This week I've got all the feeds: slack, email, ticketing system, dev story board, prod system health, prod user activity, prod job queues -- all coming to one dashboard. They are distilled by a local LLM, when I get bursts it offloads to Google's low cost Flash lite so I only read the essential text, no threads, no scrolling and scanning to get to the content.

It's freaking amazing, I know everything going on. I can look at it every half hour and be caught up in three minutes. I double click about one in ten messages to reply and it takes me right to the source app to reply.

swader999··on Why is programming so captivating, yet so agonizing?
Because you get to solve real problems people have. But you have to work with real people.
swader999··on AI Companies Are Trying to Hide a Staggering Amount of Debt
I hope so
swader999··on New Framework Desktop Option with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and 192GB Memory
Here's me wanting to drop thousands on this so I can save a few bucks a day by not having to call cloud llms for simple distillation tasks. Lol.
swader999··on Jack Dorsey launches Buzz to combine team chat, AI agents and Git hosting
Lol. I'm a peasant.
swader999··on Jack Dorsey launches Buzz to combine team chat, AI agents and Git hosting
No, there's a place for private, but it should be rare and not default mode for all company business related comms.

The change is for when everyone realizes this is useful info, a decision was made, you want to share this more broadly. Very often imo.

swader999··on Jack Dorsey launches Buzz to combine team chat, AI agents and Git hosting
I programmed back then too so cheekiness applied mostly to me.

1. A workspace admin or 2. by permission of all on thread, or AI inspects contents and gates on 1 or 2 if anything sensitive. This isn't 1990, we can program stuff now.
swader999··on Jack Dorsey launches Buzz to combine team chat, AI agents and Git hosting
Private groups are the worst thing in a truly collaborative environment. Would be nice in Slack to have a Publish this whole freaking thread to a public channel button.
swader999··on Fable 5 vs. GPT-5.6 Sol on an NP-Hard Problem: Does /goal help?
It's useful for things where it just needs to get through to completion. Long running tasks. I walk away and expect it to be done without pausing for input.
swader999··on Fable 5 vs. GPT-5.6 Sol on an NP-Hard Problem: Does /goal help?
On Claude if you start with that, it won't stop until it achieves or exhausts your prompt. It feels like "here's your mission, go do it". I use it a few times a week.
swader999··on SpaceX bond worth 10% less than issue price – heading for junk bond status
I'm impressed with the general public. I thought these guys would get away with their hype train. Nice surprise.
swader999··on Claude is just Mr. Meeseeks
I've already had five naps by then.
swader999··on Claude Code May–July 2026 weekly limits promotion
Don't get me wrong, I love Claude code and there is some loyalty I feel. But just can't justify staying if costs 2x.
swader999··on Claude Code May–July 2026 weekly limits promotion
What are the costs to get equivalent work done compared to the Claude code max 20x sub?
swader999··on Claude Code May–July 2026 weekly limits promotion
Yeah I'm getting fed up with this dance. Especially when I'm trying to max out credits over a weekend.
swader999··on Claude Code May–July 2026 weekly limits promotion
Exactly. We are all on Claude where I work but as soon as the costs rise we are migrating. Changing to a new coding agent stack feels like it will be about as much effort as migrating to a new keyboard. Gross or painful for about a week or two.
swader999··on Apple Silicon Exec Explains Mac Mini AI Demand and On-Device Future
It could heat your home in the winter and your pool in the summer.
swader999··on Apple Silicon Exec Explains Mac Mini AI Demand and On-Device Future
It's the euv machines that are the bottleneck. Pretty hard to ramp those up any faster in the next few years.
swader999··on Bonnie Tyler has died
Every now and then an article like this is fine.
swader999··on We charge $10k a week to delete AI-generated code
My barber once told me, "You don't pay me for what I cut, you pay me for what I leave behind". Now I'm bald.
swader999··on Zuckerberg says AI agent development going slower than expected
Maybe the glasses. After other companies have failed, they may have something here.
swader999··on Underwater suit-wearing cyborg insect capable of diving and terra-aqua travel
This is the kind of Science I'd expect a 12 year old boy to come up with given unlimited funding.
swader999··on The short leash AI coding method for beating Fable
Fable already feels like it has a very good harness.
swader999··on The Doorman's Fallacy in action
A competitor of the restaurant could see everything that was ordered that night. Pretty serious imo.
