From what I understand is that ZFS was so slowly ported to Linux due to the license problems. But why were Zones not quickly adapted?

1) More detail on how direct NSA's accesses are is coming, but in general, the reality is this: if an NSA, FBI, CIA, DIA, etc analyst has access to query raw SIGINT databases, they can enter and get results for anything they want. Phone number, email, user id, cell phone handset id (IMEI), and so on - it's all the same. The restrictions against this are policy based, not technically based, and can change at any time. Additionally, audits are cursory, incomplete, and easily fooled by fake justifications. For at least GCHQ, the number of audited queries is only 5% of those performed.
In addition it has an Android app which is done very well. About 80% of the posts that I see here on HN, I simply safe for later and read at home in the garden with this app.
"Optimal Pivot Selection in Fast Weighted Median Search"

It gives a formula for the optimal subset size to use to find the pivot and also does some optimization after the first partitioning step.
Given
* an amount of calories
* a distribution of macronutritions (protein, fat, simple carbs, complex carbs)
* a certain variablility (at least 20(?) different foods)
do minimize:
- Cost
Interesting problem.
A more thorough database with micronutritions would even yield a healthier result
Edit: Look like it's not new: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stigler_diet
Funny part is that it just doesn't work with a mouse. It does work well on my Win8 tablet.
Also, I didn't wanna use the power button since I wanted to actually restart it. (Actually I was in a VM).
It all depends who ask for my data.
Did you try this visualization?: http://bl.ocks.org/mbostock/4062006
Thanks for showing

Not sure if I like this. $10/month for a TB is the same as Amazon glacier. Sure that's not the same since Glacier is for archival but still... It's not THAT cheap.
