sunaookami··on Google Has Removed MV2 Extensions from the Chrome Web Store, Including UBO
I remember when it was the last bastion of Firefox users with a majority marketshare there when everyone else already switched to Chrome...
sunaookami··on Creepy Crawlies
Have the exact same problem with my MediaWiki and Gitea instances. Doing a managed challenge through Cloudflare (sigh) on "expensive URLs" helped and minimizes the impact on real users. These are also all over a million of residential IPs, very annoying.
sunaookami··on Advertisers Could Soon Demand 'Verified Clicks'
Wrong :)
sunaookami··on Advertisers Could Soon Demand 'Verified Clicks'
>you need to be the one kicking

...by giving rent-seeking corporations more money? The internet was always "free". I've been using Adblockers since decades and will continue to do so.

sunaookami··on We found a division by zero bug in FFmpeg with a vibecoded fuzzer
Speak for yourself.
sunaookami··on Migrating to HTTPX2
Oh boy, no wonder MkDocs became an absolute shit-show that fucked everyone over... https://github.com/mkdocs/mkdocs/discussions/4077#discussion...
sunaookami··on Show HN: The load-bearing vocabulary of Claude
It hasn't changed the output for me at all at "concise".
sunaookami··on Show HN: The load-bearing vocabulary of Claude
It's obviously lying.
sunaookami··on Tell HN: PayPal blocks GrapheneOS
With the number everyone can withdraw money (which is two clicks to cancel the transfer but still annoying).
sunaookami··on Tell HN: PayPal blocks GrapheneOS
...why would I give my phone number to random people to pay them? I'd rather use an email address or user name. And using phone numbers means making it easier for normal people which means uploading the whole address book to the bank... just no.
sunaookami··on Tell HN: PayPal blocks GrapheneOS
Wero is not a PayPal alternative. It doesn't even have buyer's protection and every bank must manually implement it which immediately makes it a failure. Some banks also connect it to your phone number so you can't link Wero to two different bank accounts with the same number when you have 2 bank accounts. Very messy.
sunaookami··on Yay? All my feeds are getting boring
Not surprising when content on e.g. Reddit has become so much worse. Every post and comment is the same, everything is rehashed for cheap karma even on niche subs. Never "used" YouTube (like subscribing and regularly watching videos, I despise video content in general) and most videos there are trash with insufferable "content creators".
sunaookami··on Z.ai confirms Ox Alpha is a new GLM-series model and will release its weights
That's a fake slop hype website.
sunaookami··on iCloud+ Hide My Email addresses will remain on icloud.com
Since when did we start accepting that paying for providing OAuth sign-in for other companies is good?
sunaookami··on Anthropic appears to be A/B testing reduced effort levels in Claude Code
You heavily underestimate the value of the 20$ subscription.
sunaookami··on Google has stopped pushing Git tags for some Android source code
The difference is that Apple always did it with iOS and Google did not. Many chose Android because of that.
sunaookami··on Win-V combo from Windows on Ubuntu
I use Maccy: https://github.com/p0deje/Maccy but last versions are kinda slow and it has a bug where it doesn't correctly delete old entries and the database keeps growing to >10 GB and RAM usage spikes to 1 GB.
sunaookami··on Devices with GrapheneOS support should be available in 2027
I miss my Windows Phone...

Reminds me of Lavabit where the US wanted the encryption keys and they printed them out in a 4 point font :D

sunaookami··on Cursor launches Origin, GitHub alternative
I hope you don't actually believe that USAID helped lives, it's literally a propaganda arm of the government directly intervening in the politics of other countries and being a covert operation for murder and financing dictatorships. That Americans think that sacking it costs "millions of African's lives" is the pinnacle of comedy.
sunaookami··on Cursor launches Origin, GitHub alternative
Thanks, every Musk-related thread on HN is like this, it's very tiresome. We get it, the man is controversial but I'm not on HN to read reddit-like kneejerk comments, I want to read insightful and technical ones.
sunaookami··on Linux 7.3 improves performance when running out of vRAM
These knee-jerk comments are not very interesting to read.
sunaookami··on Norway Should Buy OpenAI
Wasn't Groq acqui-hired by NVIDIA?
sunaookami··on Linux 7.3 improves performance when running out of vRAM
Running an unsupported OS is even more risky, especially with the excessive number of security updates needed while AI finds RCE after RCE.
sunaookami··on Linux 7.3 improves performance when running out of vRAM
Explorer freezes too when an external hard drive spins up, very annoying.
sunaookami··on Apple's App Tracking Transparency treated its own apps better than rivals
Smells like another successful lobby attempt by VG Wort. Disgusting.
sunaookami··on Incident with Github.com
People will say LLMs but the issues with GitHub long predate LLMs. It all started when Microsoft acquired them.
sunaookami··on Tell HN: Cloudflare silently injects its analytics when you switch nameservers
Just saw that in the dashboard: "Enable globally", "Exclude EU". Kinda funny (in a bad way)
