sunaookami··on ChatGPT Images 2.5
It must be, I'm not on any plan (free user) and got a modal on ChatGPT.com that let's me use it (for 3 images a day). Should be much higher for Plus users.
sunaookami··on Audacity 4.0
It literally does... Slowly read it again and read about the recent Meta lawsuit.
sunaookami··on OpenAI begins rolling out GPT-6 Astra
Maybe it was postponed due to the outage today?

He is pro age-verification with government IDs, what do you expect?
sunaookami··on Audacity 4.0
Yeah, it's sad to see how such a great program was ruined by yet another company. Opened it the other day and was greeted with a welcome screen that advertised some online service, then I had to turn off telemetry and there is some cloud integration now?
sunaookami··on Three sites made 215,128 “best software” pages for AI. Perplexity cites them
Reminds me of this ad from the pre-LLM days! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burger_King_Google_Home_advert...

I think one of the big problems is that the AI Mode and the AI Overview thingy rely on the found web sources too much. They seem to be the ground truth which often conflicts with Gemini's internal knowledge rather than "enriching" it.

Discord is even worse than Telegram in the privacy aspect though!?

>Previously available reasoning modes are available today with max reasoning coming shortly after we finish additional safety testing

Lmao. And their benchmark table only shows max reasoning.

sunaookami··on Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber
>shows an intelligence score of 59, the same as Opus 5!

...on Medium reasoning. Claude Opus 5 (high) is the default in e.g. Claude Code and scores 61. Still very impressive.

sunaookami··on Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1
Mine reset yesterday but I won't complain since I profited from the last two resets that were on Friday :D
sunaookami··on Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1
Sadly still not available for Pro subscription. At least they reset everyone's limits.
sunaookami··on AnkiDroid: Google Play no longer allowing Open Collective donation link

So you are still complying.

sunaookami··on Polishing Cloth Updated
In the last thread someone contacted support and they said that it is compatible and the compatibility chart just bottoms out on the iPhone 5 :D https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49435364
sunaookami··on Google Has Removed MV2 Extensions from the Chrome Web Store, Including UBO
No it really wasn't. It took Firefox multiple years of catching up, releasing multiprocess architecture, 64-bit binaries (!), ... It took until Firefox 58 (2018) until they finally cought up. There was this huge period of nothingness around 2014 when they focussed on other weird stuff like FirefoxOS that everyone saw from miles away that it will flop.
sunaookami··on Google Has Removed MV2 Extensions from the Chrome Web Store, Including UBO
I remember when it was the last bastion of Firefox users with a majority marketshare there when everyone else already switched to Chrome...
sunaookami··on Creepy Crawlies
Have the exact same problem with my MediaWiki and Gitea instances. Doing a managed challenge through Cloudflare (sigh) on "expensive URLs" helped and minimizes the impact on real users. These are also all over a million of residential IPs, very annoying.

Wrong :)
sunaookami··on Advertisers Could Soon Demand 'Verified Clicks'
>you need to be the one kicking

...by giving rent-seeking corporations more money? The internet was always "free". I've been using Adblockers since decades and will continue to do so.

sunaookami··on Show HN: The load-bearing vocabulary of Claude
It's obviously lying.
sunaookami··on Tell HN: PayPal blocks GrapheneOS
With the number everyone can withdraw money (which is two clicks to cancel the transfer but still annoying).
sunaookami··on Tell HN: PayPal blocks GrapheneOS
...why would I give my phone number to random people to pay them? I'd rather use an email address or user name. And using phone numbers means making it easier for normal people which means uploading the whole address book to the bank... just no.
sunaookami··on Tell HN: PayPal blocks GrapheneOS
Wero is not a PayPal alternative. It doesn't even have buyer's protection and every bank must manually implement it which immediately makes it a failure. Some banks also connect it to your phone number so you can't link Wero to two different bank accounts with the same number when you have 2 bank accounts. Very messy.
sunaookami··on Yay? All my feeds are getting boring
Not surprising when content on e.g. Reddit has become so much worse. Every post and comment is the same, everything is rehashed for cheap karma even on niche subs. Never "used" YouTube (like subscribing and regularly watching videos, I despise video content in general) and most videos there are trash with insufferable "content creators".
sunaookami··on Z.ai confirms Ox Alpha is a new GLM-series model and will release its weights
