suikadayo··on Ethereum Isn't Fun Anymore
Once Uniswap moves to Optimism sometime in the next few months, gas fee should drop drastically across the network
suikadayo··on Ethereum Isn't Fun Anymore
We don’t have to wait for Eth2, there are several L2 solutions in the works right now like Optimism and Polygon
suikadayo··on Ethereum Isn't Fun Anymore
It’ll be possible with L2 like Optimism which will be out for the public next month.
suikadayo··on MasterCard to open up network to cryptocurrencies
Everyone on this thread seems to be missing the point that they’ll be working with stablecoins on Ethereum and other smart contracts chains, and not Bitcoin.
suikadayo··on Bitcoin's fundamental value is negative given its environmental impact
We’re already seeing more wrapped BTC on Ethereum, than there is BTC on Lightning, so that’s very telling.
suikadayo··on Bitcoin's fundamental value is negative given its environmental impact
Eth2 with PoS is already running with Phase 0 on mainnnet though.

The merge from Eth1 to Eth2 is expected to happen this year or after. There shouldn’t be any significant delays now because Phase 0 was the biggest hurdle with research and technical dependencies that didn’t exist yet, like BLS signatures.

There’s no way Bitcoin will move to PoS without another contentious fork.

suikadayo··on Decentralized Finance: On Blockchain- and Smart Contract-Based Financial Markets
Speaking of lego bricks, and I haven't used it yet myself, but https://furucombo.app/ looks really interesting!
suikadayo··on Decentralized Finance: On Blockchain- and Smart Contract-Based Financial Markets
It'll eventually be abstracted to where it's simple to be used by regular folks, or it'll be integrated into existing infrastructure.

Cardano doesn't have smart contracts yet, and with Metcalfe's Law and network effects, Ethereum is already leading with DeFi.
suikadayo··on Bitcoincore.org removes Satoshi's whitepaper from website after threats from CSW
It would need larger blocks, but it was the general understanding within the community before the fork that with Moore's Law, hard disk capacity would increase and price would go down in the future, so it really isn't a big deal, and not enough to cause "centralization of nodes" like some people argue.

Also, my understanding is that Lightning Network is semi-custodial, so it's probably more similar to banks than credit cards. I'm unsure why modern bitcoiners are adamant about "not your keys, not your coins", but are ok with semi-custodial solutions.

suikadayo··on Tether price manipulation
> normal people can setup a full node

This argument was really silly too because people can afford higher capacity drives, and better internet connection according to Moore's Law

suikadayo··on Tether price manipulation
I don't understand why you're being downvoted. Anybody who was here before 2017 know what happened.
suikadayo··on Tether price manipulation
I've said it before and I'll say it again:

It’s mysterious how Bitcoiners hate the Fed printing money but they get awfully quiet with Tether printing money when it helps prop up the price.

suikadayo··on Why the Bitcoin Bull Run of 2020 Is Different from 2017
I’m personally looking forward to what comes out as a result of the Tether court case.

It’s mysterious how Bitcoiners hate the Fed printing money but they get awfully quiet with Tether printing money.

suikadayo··on Nocoiner predictions: 2021 will be year of comedy gold
I do find it odd that Bitcoiners who tend to be incredibly, incredibly outspoken about Ending the Fed, and QE money printing, call any criticism of Tether as FUD in a cult manner, or shrug it off as non-issue. It was/is effectively a fractional reserve, where they admitted in court in the past that Tether wasn't completely backed by cash. It does seem a little convenient that they aren't ideologically consistent, and against Tether because it just so happens to help prop up the price of Bitcoin.
