sshb··on Show HN: Betting game where you can choose your prize or your chance of winning
Did simulate this stuff https://github.com/sashabaranov/betting/blob/master/Betting....

2% looks like good short-term strategy

sshb··on Show HN: Bic – a C interpreter and API explorer
Reminds me of CERN’s ROOT which has C/C++ interpreter https://root.cern.ch/
sshb··on Secushare: A decentralized, secure social network built on GNUnet
I've built https://lastochka.network — an encrypted social network myself and did not get what this project is all about by reading this page…
sshb··on The growing science of memory manipulation
Title reminded me of this short movie https://vimeo.com/187108162
sshb··on Japanese anime studio Khara moving to Blender
Mr. Hiroyasu Kobayashi’s t-shirt is a total swag
sshb··on The Linux kernel's inability to gracefully handle low memory pressure
Android is described further in this thread https://lkml.org/lkml/2019/8/5/1121
sshb··on Racing at 127mph under a tunnel in LA [video]
3mins difference is already not significant :)
sshb··on Writing Apps in Go and Swift
Go has great crypto library, so I've wrapped it for use with Swift: https://github.com/lastochkanetwork/EasyPGP
sshb··on Ask HN: What would your ideal issue tracker look like?
It should have basic concept of “queues with stuff” which can be integrated with anything.

Examples:

1. Website form → queue with requests from website → human/machine handling them

2. App error happens → queue of errors → developer sees them in queue

3. Something gets inserted to the queue → someone gets called

All this should have some ui above it

sshb··on Ask HN: As a technical founder what is the best business book you've read?
Why?
sshb··on OpenPGPjs has passed an independent security audit
It seems that easier approach would be to compile Go's openpgp library or something higher level like https://github.com/lastochkanetwork/easypgp into wasm.
sshb··on Introducing Telegram Passport
You are forgetting social graph embedded in phone book.

No one else would give you social graph that easily.

sshb··on Going for the 5 hour workday
On Sweden's 6-hour workday: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/17/efficiency-up-...
sshb··on Yandex’s on-demand taxi service debuts its self-driving car project
Yandex is the most popular taxi service in Russia https://www.ft.com/content/3fce1422-8fd0-11e6-a72e-b428cb934...
sshb··on Pix2code: Generating Code from a GUI Screenshot
gRPC already does automate huge chunk of CRUD apps creating routine
sshb··on Baidu File System – A distributed file system for real-time applications
Does it support ipv6?
sshb··on Nommu Linux
There is no obvious practical application for such system. So "why?" is irrelevant here.

Never the less taking such common abstraction as MMU and disabling it is awesome illustration of OS architecture.

sshb··on An Introduction to OpenResty
I find lua+nginx really useful for auth checking.
sshb··on SqlPad: Run SQL in your browser and chart the results
So, phpMyAdmin basically?
sshb··on Announcing the D-Wave 2X Quantum Computer
It would be nice to have these computers available in public clouds. It is not trivial though.
sshb··on Never, ever, ever use MongoDB
About 80% rewrite: it is poor abstraction problem rather then vendor lock-in one
sshb··on Handling Leap Seconds the OpenBSD Way
Dont they have software with time deltas? Are all time deltas signed? Are negative deltas handled?
sshb··on Resources to learn Go
Nice summary.

Contributing to existing project is one more way to learn Golang. Perfect if you have some exotic needs which are not covered in existing golang libraries.

sshb··on Problems with Go Get
We should have python's virtualenv analogue in Go.
sshb··on Apache Zeppelin – Interactive analytics on Spark
Also IPython is moving towards splitting the notebook part(Jupyter) and python part(IPython), so you can run any language in notebook (like IHaskell).

Details are in IPython changelog:

> 3.x will be the last monolithic release of IPython, as the next release cycle will see the growing project split into its Python-specific and language-agnostic components. Language-agnostic projects (notebook, qtconsole, etc.) will move under the umbrella of the new Project Jupyter name
