Frustratingly, feeds are gone for such things as reviews on amazon, instagram accounts, youtube, and other sites. It's dying because people don't use it anymore.
I am somewhat surprised that others are upset he was fired. Free speech doesn't always apply within a company context and speaking politically on either side is a bad idea. Not to mention, while he may have some points, he's approaching a people problem as a statistics problems. With deep rooted issues like this (that have lasted for 100s of years) you can't just pull out data that won't apply going forward if we actually try to make things better...
I've really been enjoying the use of sysdig for performance and other analysis. It makes it quite easy to find what you need quickly. I do prefer built in tools though, so I'll have to look at this.
My sister has this and doesn't upgrade to the 1000 service because she doesn't need it, even though it's $12 more than 100. I'm sitting here lucky if I get 11 down .5 up
I like it, though every once in a while something will be blocked in the middle of the screen and I can't dismiss the red blocked area to get to the actual content.
I wouldn't say soon. Btrfs needs much more robust userspace tools. At the moment, the tools tell you nothing, and recovery is basically impossible. I have lost data several times now. While I had backups since I was using btrfs, I didn't expect to lose data the way that I did. The drive filled up with metadata, and since it didn't have anywhere to rebalance the metadata it couldn't move it, and even if I deleted files it wouldn't make a difference. It happened to me on two occasions. The interesting thing is that btrfs filesystem df showed I only had 80gb total, with a 120gb drive. Decided to go back to xfs for that drive, and I use zfs for my raidz2 array.
Access speeds to my SAMBA server are so bad since Mavericks I had to switch to NFS. Even with the workaround to disable Apple's version of sambaV3, I still have issues.
So because someone wants to make a living on something they love they're untrustworthy? I agree I would rather have open source applications running on my phone, however I also feel it is a good thing they are monetizing their efforts. I prefer a more stock version of android, but any additions to the android ecosystem strengthens its ability.
