For desktop, I'm very happy with qmetaobject-rs. Qt is time tested and highly reliable. And gui is, frankly, serious business.
Also, Generally speaking, UI itself is best done declaratively rather than imperatively. There's a reason quick is adopted more than qwidgets.

Devs are are missing the point with linux on phone. Get the point part working first lol so that people have some incentive to carry the damned thing. Apps come later

People the problem isn't whether you're able to run it, wayland does work fine for mainstream, the problems that anyone who's not mainstream cannot even take a fucking screenshot and that's bad for openness. Or open the window at the position of closed last time. That's bad for openness (and opening)
