Sounds like a ceasefire to me. How else would they do this? Definitely not with any of the military tactics Israel is currently using.

The Hamas created content from Oct 7th isn't what gained widespread popular support for the Palestinian cause, it was both what Israel has done to the Palestinians but also a thousand Streisand effects kicking in as many powerful actors immediately went to war with anyone who wasn't staunchly pro-Israel. This increased general awareness of the situation pre-October 7th and things like Nakba and the previous, peaceful March of Return where Israeli snipers shot thousands of protesters.

Why would Egypt aid Israel in ethnically cleansing Palestinians? People who live in Gaza belong in Gaza, or in their original homes in Israel that the Zionists forced them from during Nakba in 1948.

It's not the "scale of content produced by Hamas", it's the scale of killing done by Israel. People are reacting to the actual death and destruction taking place, not just tweets. Social media is helping people see what's going on in Gaza and the West Bank directly without Israeli propaganda interfering with the message.

I think there's a big difference between the opinion of most of the people in tech and those at the very top (CEOs and VCs). I see wide support for Palestinians with pretty much everyone, but the VCs are almost universally, militantly, Zionist. It's a huge issue that those funding the industry and those working in it (and consuming it) hold such extremely different opinions on an issue as serious as genocide.

If you look at the original article what they're looking for is a mix of false information but also things rebuking false things stated by the IDF. Such as the 40 beheaded babies. That's not false information, it was a lie spread by the IDF.

You can see this happen out in the open when Paul Graham (or anyone else) posts statistics about who's been killed, raw footage... he's immediately swarmed by people, some major players in the industry, accusing him of "antisemitism", which it most definitely is not.

On one hand, yes. On the other, there is a literal massacre of humans happening right now and this censorship is definitely related. So it is very dangerous in a real and urgent way.

That's beyond ridiculous. Ken Klippenstein is a great journalist and definitely should not be suspended.

I posted this article here, not because I support testing VC backed weapons on Palestinian civilians, but it's important to know this is happening.

That's pretty gross. I can't reify the desire for "business as usual" with the horrors I've seen Israel commit. I can't really stomach the idea of doing business with companies or people who support Israel. I'll stick with AMD in this case.

What I found surprising was how militant and extreme so many in the venture capital community were about Israel. The vast majority of people I know are very pro-Palestinan and see Israel as an oppressive cold war relic that needs to go the way of South Africa. On October 7th we woke up to an industry where the financiers were very much at odds with the market, staff, world population... and it seems like they've done nothing but double down since then. It's really upsetting, especially since we've seen 20k civilians killed and vcs are still cheering on Israel.

This is an extremely cogent take on the state of things. Oct 7th was effectively a shattering of the old world view of a US superpower, MSM lead narrative, DNC/GOP duopoly of thought and politics... There are still many people that hold that world view, but there are now many who don't and won't ever again.

I hadn't watched Al Jazeera before this conflict but now I think they're heroes. You see "reporters" on CNN wearing bullet proof vests by a pool in Tel Aviv while Al Jazeera journalists are reporting on air while they find out their entire family has been killed by Israel. It's incredible stuff and I've never seen anything like it. I've lost all respect for US and western media journalism.
