slenk··on Cloudflare Introduces Default Blocking of A.I. Data Scrapers
I will have to check them out I guess
slenk··on Cloudflare Introduces Default Blocking of A.I. Data Scrapers
Right - do I want them getting some info from me, or do I want my IP address exposed?

Besides CloudFront, which still costs money, what other option is there for semi-privacy and caching for free?

slenk··on Cloudflare Introduces Default Blocking of A.I. Data Scrapers
I thought I saw cloudflare insert noindex links?
slenk··on Cloudflare Introduces Default Blocking of A.I. Data Scrapers
How is Cloudflare a parasite? I can use Cloudflare, and get their AI protection, for free. I have dozens of domains I have used with Cloudflare at one point and I haven't paid them a dime.
slenk··on SpaceX Starship 36 Anomaly
While "explode until you figure it out" worked well on the Falcon 9, it was a lot of taxpayer money to develop a rocket system primarily used to launch their own product at this point - not delivering on price-points they claimed

I might be a little bitter that NASA doesn't get that money instead.

slenk··on SpaceX Starship 36 Anomaly
My point is once we launched that was never a failure. Yes, there were deaths, which is horrible.

But we learned and improved fast.

Now that we have decades of rocket knowledge, we shouldn't be wasting billions of taxpayer dollars on giant explosions

slenk··on SpaceX Starship 36 Anomaly
I know. I thought we (the USA) were supposed to be better than them. We were with the Apollo program
slenk··on SpaceX Starship 36 Anomaly
Starship seems to explode much more taking everything with it - not just parts on a launch stand
slenk··on Show HN: Hyper – Standards-first React alternative
I wish open-source projects checked to see if other projects share the same name.

Especially since there are packages in NPM already about hyper.

https://hyper.is/ has been around for a while and is kind of big

slenk··on Backblaze: Mounting Losses, Lawsuits, Sham Accounting, Insider Selling
BODI was an MLM that had to stop being an MLM and are hemorrhaging money
slenk··on Backblaze: Mounting Losses, Lawsuits, Sham Accounting, Insider Selling
They WERE an MLM until they stopped being able to make money. There are good YouTubers out there dedicating time to getting people out of MLMs (some are basically cults). 99% of people in MLMs lose money.

If you think he is a good CFO I think you drank the coolaid.

slenk··on Matt Mullenweg, Automattic's CEO, Seems Bound and Determined to Wreck WordPress
How was it not attaining an unjust advantage when WP.org banned WPEngine?
slenk··on Tell HN: I just updated my wife's Chrome, and uBlock is no longer supported
> Unfortunately I am too busy to dig through Bugzilla, make an account, etc. only for the bug to be ignored for years like the others...

So, if no one reports the bug, how do you expect the bug to get fixed? Instead, you just keep harking back on that unfixed bug whenever Firefox conversations come up and you can be like "but this bug has been around and no one has fixed it"

slenk··on Tell HN: I just updated my wife's Chrome, and uBlock is no longer supported
By that same logic, ^w is used as close window everywhere else
slenk··on Grok is now free for all X users
What's wrong with the 7900 XTX? They also have their x3d processors
slenk··on Bitwarden SDK relicensed from proprietary to GPLv3
I found psono and spun up a self-hosted instance. I may just try to keep them in sync for a while while this business fully settles
slenk··on Response to DHH
The instant I saw that I stopped reading. Matt does not seem like a great person.
slenk··on California bans sell-by dates
Food can sit around before being packed. I don't think packed on is any more useful in 99% of situations
slenk··on Mary Hubbard New Executive Director of Wordpress.org
Which ones aren't under his control? HR? Legal? Because no sane person would be letting him do this
slenk··on US House panel probes FCC decision to deny Starlink nearly $900M
9 up is abysmal.
slenk··on It's Time to Stop Taking Sam Altman at His Word
Same needs to happen to Elon Musk
slenk··on Response to WP Engine’s Lawsuit
Does this mean I should remove "Powered by Wordpress" everywhere? I don't want to accidentally infringe on copyright.
slenk··on YC criticized for backing AI startup that simply cloned another AI startup
That is called capitalism. Like the word you used a lot.
slenk··on SpaceX update regarding Starship FAA flight approval
Apollo 1 didn't explode during a launch. It was a rehearsal.
slenk··on SpaceX update regarding Starship FAA flight approval
SpaceX is not part of our national security. They are one launch platform.

They should be punished, they keep blowing up spaceships. Know what didn't blow up on it's first trip to space? The Saturn V rocket, from the 60s!

slenk··on Zen, a Arc-like open-source browser based on the Firefox engine
A lot of legitimate Firefox Addons say that. Just means Moz can't manually review every single extension if they want to allow their users a good extension experience...unlike developing Chrome extensions
slenk··on Initial details about why CrowdStrike's CSAgent.sys crashed
I really dislike this mentality. Don't even get me started on celebrating when your rocket blows up
slenk··on Initial details about why CrowdStrike's CSAgent.sys crashed
I feel like they need to at least first rollout to themselves
slenk··on CrowdStrike fixes start at "reboot up to 15 times", gets more complex from there
