In other words, the SC just defined Aereo as a cable company, when they wanted to be a cloud services company.
Aereo wanted to define the activity by drawing a box around the tiny antenna and the user.
The Supremes draw the box around Aereo and their customer base.
The opinion compares Aereo's use of tiny antennas to cable companies' use of one big one. They argue that since Congress passed a law back in the '70s to define the cable companies' practices as rebroadcast, that law should be read as also defining what Aereo does as rebroadcast.
They really really want you to get off the dangerous, broken JRE 6 version.
They're maintaining the most dangerous client software in the world, and they can't break the language with quarterly releases of exciting new features. They have to love people forward into new releases, or maintain the old releases forever. TZUPDATER is maybe the only thing they can kill to incent people to upgrade. And they're not killing it, they're letting you pay to keep running old, vulnerable versions of software.
Slashdot OP misses the point. You're supposed to upgrade your runtime periodically. They're years behind.
I'm actually torn about the Windows platform on this form factor. Solidworks on a Surface - or Core IMPACT (scary!) sounds really cool. The installed base really is awesome. On the other hand, Blackhole, Zeus, TDSS, and everything else will also run on day one (or day zero) - and they'll run on the cheap version or the expensive one.
