siva7··on GPT-6 Astra
Sounds fun. As fun as their press release claiming it is the most safety aligned model ever.
siva7··on Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1
Yep, they have no clue what their users are complaining about since all they use all day is mythos max preview.
siva7··on The Rise and Fall of Agent Civilizations
Not many are technically and intellectually capable to understand how historic this incident was. I think we're about a year or so away from something that will blow up the world. AI won't serve humanity. AI will serve other AI. We're not dealing with software anymore.
siva7··on The Rise and Fall of Agent Civilizations
Depends who you ask..
siva7··on Claude Code is going reduce limits by 25% from September 14
> Starting September 14, we're permanently raising standard weekly limits in Claude Code by 25% for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans. Until then, the current 50% increase will be in place.

what kind of bullshit speak is the original announcement or do they think devs can't elementary school math?

siva7··on The AI-Native SDLC Playbook
Christ when have blog posts become hour long reads?
siva7··on Gemini 3.5 Transcribe
> Coming soon to Chrome, you’ll be able to talk to type in any web field — making it effortless to dictate replies, draft posts, or prompt Gemini in Chrome more naturally and easily with your voice.

That's probably the biggest news

siva7··on Mathematicians will probably become obsolete before anyone else [pdf]
so is physics?
siva7··on Don't Paste the AI, please
Sharp idea. Thanks.
siva7··on Degraded performance for multiple models
What? Why whould they do that?
siva7··on Google has acquired the data of failed US airline Spirit
Not sure if you're serious but a) all HN data is publicly downloadable and used by frontier labs and b) the origin of OpenAI tracks down to former YC CEO sama who was thereafter fired from YC
siva7··on On AI regulation and messaging
Claude cured a deaf person. Just look up news. All this negativity on HN is depressing..
siva7··on Anthropic CEO says the way for AI to win over the public is to cure cancer
> but I don’t think it is primarily caused by me or any other AI leader warning about AI’s risks.

True, how about this:

> I think we might be six to twelve months away from when the model is doing most, maybe all of what software engineers do end-to-end.”

siva7··on Accelerating GPT-5.6 Sol Ultrafast
15 years ago i was astounished by the intellectual deepness of this community. Now i'm aware this has always been a cult and their former cult leader Mr. Altman wants to destroy this capitalist society. He isn't even hiding motives. People just stopped listening carefully.
siva7··on Show HN: A public AI whose memory is shared across all users
Some people seem to have never heard of 4chan. History repeats
siva7··on Claude: System Prompts
No, this is a fundamental safeguard against malicious user intent and also marketing 101 so claude doesn't anwer its chatgpt when asked what it is and people moan on social media how dumb claude is (that's what actually happened to the frontier labs in the early years as i did something similiar)
siva7··on Software Engineering fundamentals matter more
It's about agentic systems who view humans as their "tool". Much like the companies who created them. Just read the system cards of the new frontier models how those behave without strong guardrails. And remember that we already have only a generation behing capable models in the wild without guardrails
siva7··on Software Engineering fundamentals matter more
wake up, slopinthebag. wake up..
siva7··on Semaglutide linked to lower predicted dementia risk
Then teach us.. when did they got actual voting rights? (i'm not trying to be snarky but sometimes it' not easy seeing the level of history ignorance in society)
siva7··on Semaglutide linked to lower predicted dementia risk
No, black woman (among many other minorities) certainly didn't. I guess that part isn't taught in american schools as thoroughly as it should be.
siva7··on A controversial Alzheimer's surgery is said to reverse symptoms
It puts a "premium" on life only because all those regulations were written with blood from those who can't defend themselves anymore as those same arguments were used back then as they are today.
siva7··on Semaglutide linked to lower predicted dementia risk
>> If this is caused by the weight loss, it is a little disappointing that public health didn't act quicker

I imagine people hundred years in the future will think of our current society rightfully as dumbfucks. But should we be surprised? 50 years ago women didn't have voting rights; homosexuals were incarcerated in western societes; all because of moral and power implications of some powerful men. Not much different with Semaglutide.

siva7··on A controversial Alzheimer's surgery is said to reverse symptoms
It seems China is repeating similar mistakes the western world did in the 20th century (e.g. psychosurgery, very weak regulations). It's like watching a car seconds before crash and you can't do anything to stop it.
siva7··on How Claude marks AI-generated content
I can tell you how: Claude produces a huge wall of text with jargon ridden bullshit and invented terms no human subject matter expert would seriously use and overuse.
siva7··on Humanising LLM Outputs Is Dumb
The output from newer frontier models of Anthropic and Openai are so easily detectable as AI it's getting laughable. They constantly produce a huge wall of text no human expert on a specific topic would ever write. Extreme overuse of jargon and invented terms / metaphors makes me believe the people hired for RLHF aren't actually experts on their subject matter which seems plausible to me as real experts wouldn't do such a job for regular pay
siva7··on Learning more about Claude's mathematical capabilities
Reality has become more absurd than the cyber punk cheese from the 80's that tried to imagine an absurd future
siva7··on Tl;dv: Over 180k meetings left wide open
Software lost that status in the vibe coding era. It's an art form now, not necessarily something worse or easier, just different than engineering. But probably not the career path anymore for those who prefered math over philosophy in college.
siva7··on Melatonin impairs morning cognition in healthy young adults (2023)
There is no such thing as "older people" dose.
siva7··on Changes at Google DeepMind: Demis Hassabis from CEO to Chair, Jeff Dean departs
I stopped googling. Chatgpt does better web search than Google Ai.
siva7··on 'Crush this lady': how eBay harassment campaign led to $56M payout
Yup, i've worked long enough with senior mgmt to know that anything of interest for prosecution won't be written down, especially not on company devices. Those making the mistakes of writing things down are those actually prosecuted, the ranks and files.
