I can't wait for Haiku 4.6 ! the 4.5 is a beast for the right projects.
simlevesque··on Claude Sonnet 4.6
The system card even says that Sonnet 4.6 is better than Opus 4.6 in some cases: Office tasks and financial analysis.

simlevesque··on The Sharp PC-2000 Computer Boombox from 1979
First time I hear about this device. I learned to program 25 years ago on a PC-1500. I wish it had multiple lines like this machine !
simlevesque··on Show HN: Skill that lets Claude Code/Codex spin up VMs and GPUs
You can but I have to say that there's value in a tool that lets the ai do it using less tokens.

Damn, that AI sounds like Magneto.
simlevesque··on The Day the Telnet Died
I don't understand how playing a MUD doesn't fit the definition of "remote user access to service hosts".
simlevesque··on Show HN: Showboat and Rodney, so agents can demo what they've built
Yeah it's pretty new indeed. It's very effective at doing pretty much any browser automation task and I have to say that using it with the included skill is pretty seamless.
simlevesque··on Show HN: Showboat and Rodney, so agents can demo what they've built
rodney seems to be pretty much the same as agent-browser: https://github.com/vercel-labs/agent-browser

simlevesque··on Orchestrate teams of Claude Code sessions
I've had good results with Haiku for certain tasks.
simlevesque··on Procedures for Repair of Potholes in Asphalt-Surfaced Pavements
The root of the problem (literally) is that when potholes appear it's mostly because what's under became too porous and humid so what's over it separates easily. Patching the hole isn't a good fix but the alternative is closing roads which wrecks the economy. The other problem is that the public always asks: "why isn't it patched ?" and if you don't do it you look like you're not competent enough to be in charge. And the cycle continues.

simlevesque··on JuiceSSH – Give me my pro features back
Enable Developper Options. It should be in the Developer menu. It's a toggle that'll enable this apk.
simlevesque··on JuiceSSH – Give me my pro features back
I'm using Termux with aliases. I'll write "c1" and it logs in the machine. I use git to sync and backup from my laptop.

I bought JuiceSSH too but I didn't use it that much. It's a shame they did what they did.

Congrats on the launch ! Someone told me that you have an excellent product but I don't have a need for it yet.

simlevesque··on Why DuckDB is my first choice for data processing
But when indexing your json or csv, if you have say 10 rows, each row is separated on your disk instead of all together. So a scan for one columb only needs to read a tenth of the disk space used for the data. Obviously this depends on the columns' content.

Sorry I honestly didn't anticipate my opinions to be so divisive and this outcome wasn't my intention. I'll do better.

Could you delete my comments too ? Thank you

Normally you ask for payment upfront, not years after.

Don't tell me you're giving me something for free in the first place then. It's simple.
simlevesque··on Creators of Tailwind laid off 75% of their engineering team
I'd feel lied to if someone offers me a free tool and later the person that controls it chooses to make it worse just to make more money.

I got bit by that many times and do my best to avoid it but when it happens it's a stab in the back.

simlevesque··on Creators of Tailwind laid off 75% of their engineering team
Ethically
simlevesque··on Creators of Tailwind laid off 75% of their engineering team
I didn't ask how to do a bait and switch to offer a good free product and later ask for more money or else I'm going to make it worse. But I guess nuance is hard to understand.

Also it's always funny when someone tries to look up your past instead of giving convincing arguments.

simlevesque··on Creators of Tailwind laid off 75% of their engineering team
When you start making your open source project worse for your users because you are not making enough out of it I'll choose to use something else.

There's a point where it's too much and it just feels like a trojan horse when later you stop caring for your free users.
