shlant··on Wages in America Are Too Low for the 30% Rule to Work for Renters Anymore
and your evidence that property prices are almost entirely set by wages is?

> It's the opposite of a thought-terminating cliche

> You could start by reading Marx, who laid a lot of the groundwork.

Are you aware that you just responded with another? You did the "read theory" meme lol

> I like the way you trailed off halfway through your knee-jerk reaction, underscoring just how much your response is an automated result of indoctrination

so you don't have solutions or evidence is what I'm gathering? just another lefty populist spouting tired platitudes?

I guess I'm just confused why your entire comment is about landlords and the super-wealthy when the article and message you are responding to don't mention either.
shlant··on Wages in America Are Too Low for the 30% Rule to Work for Renters Anymore
are you referring to NIMBY homeowners? because yes, people who own houses are the most likely to prevent more housing from being built (although not the only reason more housing isn't being built)

what proportion of the housing crisis do you think is because of what you linked, and what would be your evidence?
shlant··on Wages in America Are Too Low for the 30% Rule to Work for Renters Anymore
No I am mostly agreeing with the quoted point
shlant··on Wages in America Are Too Low for the 30% Rule to Work for Renters Anymore
really? you think it's not significantly effected by anything else? like amount of housing available?

> The common factor: the capital class screwing over the working class.

This thought terminating cliche is getting real old. What are your solutions? and what evidence do you have that those solutions will solve the problems? Shaking your fists at "the elites" and regurgitating populist slop is not going to

shlant··on Wages in America Are Too Low for the 30% Rule to Work for Renters Anymore
> Increasing wages will not fix the housing crisis, and will just drive prices higher.

This is true though?

Are you saying that you blame apartment prices on landlords? If you build more apartments then market rent goes down and landlords can't charge more if people can just find cheaper apartments. It's not like landlords just choose whatever price they want - it's significantly bound by the demand.

shlant··on Lombardy increases charges for the construction of data centres in green areas
> Obviously because they care more about things than just making money.

why should someone be banned from selling their land if they want?

shlant··on Italy region: +200% tax on datacenters built in green/agricultural areas

what are you referring to here? because it certainly is not data centers

you think it's more profitable to not lease the spaces because "the management overhead of landlording"?

What do you think a "tax write off" is?

> Years later, this still seems far out of reach. If anything, it seems to have been settled that most non-technicals don't want a 3D printer.

Considering the 3D printing barrier for entry is buying, setting up, learning, and maintaining a whole new piece of equipment vs going to a website on a phone or computer everyone already has and telling it what you want in plain english, I think the comparison is lacking.

just played with an American friend who was learning for the first time yesterday. The winds are by far the most annoying part. Not only is the order of them different than what most people are used to (ESWN vs NESW) but the points you get for each depend on what wind you are and this is on top of having to memorize the Chinese characters (although of course some sets number them). Great game but so many little special cases that can make it intimidating to learn.

Don't even get me started on scoring when you are gambling (although the dynamics of who pays who and how much is interesting)

shlant··on Aspartame is not that bad? (2022)
> "While informative, this does not prove aspartame is safe"

You just cherry-picked this from where they are only talking about the chemicals it breaks down into which yes, does not alone prove it's safe. But then it (right after in the section titled "The scientific consensus") goes on to list the science from most major health organizations and concludes with the quote I shared. Did you just ignore all the evidence presented because it doesn't fir your confirmation bias?

shlant··on Aspartame is not that bad? (2022)
> So basically there's no scientific consensus either way

"The current science says that the health impact of aspartame is essentially zero. Every credible body that has studied this question has reached the same conclusion."

Did you even read the article?
