I think "space" will definitely be an option for the future. We will get closer and closer to finding out more about our universe and other life forms. Maybe the idea of traveling to other planets and creating life on other planets.
This stuff just blows my mind. I really want to get into Quantum Computers but I don't think I'll be able to wrap my mind around it. It's really amazing how much stuff we don't know in this universe.
Hot technology? PHP has more jobs than Ruby and Python put together. Theres still a lot of legacy code. You teach a beginner Ruby on Rails he will have less of a chance finding a job than you teach with PHP. Only people using Ruby on Rails is mainly startups and I'm sure they are not looking for people who just started learning Ruby on Rails. PHP gives you a clear overview how you can embed code in an HTML and also use a database with it makes much more sense. I will definitely pay for it if you went this route but I got my fingers crossed good luck.
Not a bad idea, I'm sure you will get funded if you put this on kickstarter my only thing is don't go with Ruby on Rails or is that your main skill?. Ruby on Rails is not something a beginner will understand it really just seems like magic as opposed to PHP and MySQL. I definitely recommend you try PHP since that will give beginners a great opportunity to understand and follow along it also gives a high level overview of what is really going on under the hood of server-side scripting.
Who would want to quit drinking coffee? Can anyone give me some negative health outcomes of drinking coffee? Other than the coffee breath which is awful.
Idk who told you that but I work better in my room or office when it's raining out, than 100degrees of sun it gets really uncomfortable to sit and program :( nevertheless I love this design good web designer for sure!
if you like living in weather almost as hot as Africa. Personally I couldn't live anywhere where it doesn't rain at all which is why I live and love Seattle (:
The best way to learn to program is to build stuff particularly a web application what better way than an obligatory blog which is something most programmers want anyway so it's a good starting point and fun.
most important thing is find something you love to do and major in it, don't contemplate while in college because picking the right major ahead of time means you know what classes you will need to take and it will make your time there easier and more efficient otherwise you will end up taking classes that aren't for your major if you decide to change majors half way.
You bring up very valid points. I checked out App Academy seems like one of the best bootcamps around I applied and even wrote near perfect Ruby code for their challenge test but got denied. Wish there was a way I could get into App Academy I would be willing to pay.
You're young don't think about it so much, just enjoy life and be happy you could be dead tomorrow. Sometimes you just have to be grateful for everything in life. Watch Steve Jobs commencement video maybe that will shine light into your life.
