How many times does Turnbull have to say he isn't going to rip up the NBN?

He has two main problems: He doesn't want labour getting credit for something liberal can. He doesn't believe labour is managing the project in with best financial interest of the public and feels up to $10 billion could be saved.

This is the BS that is ticking him off: http://news.smh.com.au/breaking-news-national/new-homes-dudd...

35,000 new homes built last year had fresh new copper laid by Telstra instead of fibre.

That copper isn't old, damaged, and incapable of fast speeds. It is brand new and was a complete waste of money. Except for Telstra shareholders who get to profit even more off the labour government once tax payers buy it all back to replace with fibre.

You should study some history to understand why western society consider a woman to be owned by her husband. In many tribal religions, before the global spread of Abrahamic religion, had a different concept of what was norm arrangement for a man and woman to have a sexual relationship. For example, in many Arab tribes, women belonged to tents. Men would visit those tents and as long as he financed the tent he could have sexual intercourse with all the females in the tent. Daughter, mother, didn't matter. Men would stay at the tent temporarily. This obviously meant they had no concept of family like how we do. In Abrahamic religions and western society a woman belongs to her husband as opposed to a piece of property. In such a society, women were shunned as if they committed adultery if they refused sex to the man who is currently financing their tent. This was a part of a Persian communism that existed about 2000 years ago. Obviously with the success of Abrahamic religion we kept the terms but forgot the meaning behind the terms. I would love to be able to give more precise details but I haven't reviewed these historical topics since high school.

There are some references to what I'm talking about on the wikipeda page on Mazdak. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazdak

Apple probably doesn't care about the 1c saving by cutting component to bare requirements to be safe. Also you need to include the engineer's time.

Considering I can get the tablet included for about the same price. And that allwinner a13 is on the market. The price should be dropping soon.

Hope he has an exclusion list for countries the post office don't post to. Whether it is political or temporary due to natural disaster.

OVH should have their east coast data centre open for customers in August. http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/archives/2012/04/30/europ... I am an alpha testing and their service is great. They are not just a data centre that leases bandwidth from others. They are an internet backbone with ownership in back haul fibre. They are big enough to add 290gbps to their network in days. http://forum.ovh.co.uk/showpost.php?p=42216&postcount=66

Most of the links are 10gbps so it is just a simple hardware upgrade to 40gbps or 100gbps.

Have you read trusting trust?

ZTE phones are very popular in China. I'm looking out for the Chinese reaction to this is.

Does no one send faulty item back to the manufacturer so they can prevent the same fault from happening again?

How about Australia to France? That is what I am doing and I can feel the lag sometimes.

Google profits off ads in apps and app sales. If anything it increases their ad market which is good for them.

Yeah right....

Nah its good because of you it got to the front page.

Timing or the title really does make a difference. Posted the same link 12 hours ago. http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3764331

I just saw your profile states you founded havenco.

Seems this submission is getting a lot more traction than my one 12 hours ago. http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3764331

Yeah it's a good read. Surprised it's not gaining more than a handful of up votes. It's made the home page of the verge and slashdot. Did I choose a poor title? Post at the wrong time? Oh well...

I see this being used by sites like Hulu who serve you a "why are you blocking our ads" complaint if you are blocking their ads.

All the Android ad blockers work by modifying the hosts file and null routing ad servers.

Requires rooting and it blocks ads in everything not just the browser.

According to wikipedia, "It was later discovered that as many as 14 other passengers also survived the initial fall from the disintegrated plane but were unable to seek help and died while awaiting rescue."

Her mother is said to have also survived the crash. Only to die a few days later in the forest.

I think you will find infrared was advance enough by 1971. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrared#History_of_infrared_sc...

If they could afford to fly search planes overhead I can't see cost being the issue that prevented them from doing the search more efficiently.

Couldn't infrared have been used to detect where the living humans were after the plane had crashed?

Sad outcome for the mother. :(

In short, with SPDY your server will push all related files like images to the client when it requests the page. Currently this is done by sending the page, having the client read it, and then the client requests all the later files.

No Limbo? Dennis Ritchie will be let down.

I don't think anyone will be pulling out C# marketing videos from their archives any time soon. Like AT&T archives' the unix operating system http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3749496

It will be interesting to see what happens with C# if Microsoft succeeds with Windows 8 on the desktop, tablet, and phone.

iirc there was a port of x server recently to android.

They are going to buy out foxconn. :P Well maybe not.

Then again foxconn is supposed to add 1 million assembly robots.

Maybe they will buy out their factories.

There was a guy on 4chan that went crazy and lived in a hole. Later he moved into a cave. http://4chanarchive.org/brchive/dspl_thread.php5?thread_id=6...

This is months after their UK hike. http://tamebay.com/2011/07/paypal-fee-changes-for-september-...

Not sure what else has gone up this time around.

Well the market isn't part of Android. It's part of the Google experience.
