sco1··on In Python, `[0xfor x in (1, 2, 3)]` returns `[15]`
Some cases are, but there are still plenty of patterns that (currently) are not. e.g. `1if 1else 2`

sco1··on RIP Google Reader
I've been happily using Inoreader since the plug was pulled on Google Reader
sco1··on USDS Digital Services Playbook
> A GS-15 in a metro area like New York, DC, and San Francisco, with experience, can get over $170.

Agencies like USDS, 18F, etc. who are hiring at this level are atypical, and have to do so in order to attract talent away from private sector. GS-13+ slots are typically senior leadership positions and not entry level for anyone unless they have a PhD.

sco1··on YouTube TV sharply increases monthly subscription to $64.99
I had the same question after reading the email from Youtube this afternoon, looking at Verizon's offerings they have monthly tiers at $50, $70, and $90. Ignoring any first time user bundles, incentives, etc. I don't know what the overlap between the base tier and Youtube TV's base offerings is, but it's for sure covered by the middle tier.

I was happy with Youtube TV at its initial $40 price, lukewarm with the first price jump, and now I'm really questioning it at $65. I travel quite a bit so the on-demand capability is valuable but that's starting to be a stretch.

sco1··on Facebook Contractors Must Work in Offices During Coronavirus Pandemic
Hey, that sounds suspiciously like a union.

I'm sure they could, it would probably end up with their contracts being terminated though. Or maybe not, depending on how strong the PR backlash is.

sco1··on Ask HN: Do you still use RSS?
Yes, and will continue to use it until support for it dies or someone comes up with a better way to aggregate things I actually care about reading into a simple interface. Hopefully the latter comes first :)

I was sad when Google killed Reader, but Inoreader has been a great alternative for my daily use.

sco1··on The voice from our Nest camera threatened to steal our baby
> Does Nest offer MFA?

I don't remember what Nest used before being bought by Google (I believe SMS MFA was available), but they're transitioning accounts to sign in with your Google account.
