sbinnee··on Google Workspace CLI
I can already see all the CTOs are getting excited to plug this in their OpenClaw instances.
sbinnee··on MacBook Neo
I don't this product has many audiences on HN. But I would definitely recommend it to anyone not doing much computing.
sbinnee··on Don't become an engineering manager
Learned something new, about the Peter principle. Thank you. I don't know if I should be surprised that it was published in 1969, and it seems that the principle still holds.
sbinnee··on GPT‑5.3 Instant
I am always confused with the gpt names. So, via API, it's called "gpt-5.3-chat-latest". I haven't used their web UI for a while. Would this mean that this is the default model for their chat UI?
sbinnee··on Parallel coding agents with tmux and Markdown specs
I love this article. I learned a lot from the OP’s setup although the tools I am using are basically the same with mu setup. I like using vanilla tmux with visual changes. I also use a bash script to manage git worktrees. I have a few slash commands (now skills with no auto invocation) for my workflow.

At the end of the day, I think that it all comes down to building what works for you. But at this point there is no doubt AI will play an important role to speed up workflows and augment one’s capacity.

sbinnee··on iPhone 17e
I don't get Air either. My guess is that Air is just a stepping stone for a foldable iphone.
sbinnee··on Statement from Dario Amodei on our discussions with the Department of War
As a non US citizen, this article sounds mildly concerning to me. My country is an ally of US. Good. But I don't know how I would feel when I start seeing Anthropic logos on every weapon we buy from US.

Aside my concern, Dario Amodei seems really into politics. I have read a couple of his blog posts and listened to a couple of podcast interviews here and there. Every time I felt like he sounded more like a politician than an entrepreneur.

I know Anthropic is particularly more mission-driven than, say OpenAI. And I respect that their constitutional ways of training and serving Claude models. Claude turned out to be a great success. But reading a manifest speaking of wars and their missions, it gives me chills.

sbinnee··on Windows 11 Notepad to support Markdown
I don't consider any of window apps light. I'd rather open a vim on WSL because anyway I always have WSL open on windows. But I welcome markdown support in fact. I can quickly jot down something that is pleasingly presentable to people, say during presentation or meeting. For bloatware perspective, I would be more worried of LLM support which I had no idea it had. I learned it from a comment.
sbinnee··on Windows 11 Notepad to support Markdown
Good that they have realized the power of raw texts thanks to LLMs.
sbinnee··on Never buy a .online domain
The product[1] looks super cool! I can immediately think of my use case, though not for gamin. I am using LibreChat to call LLMs, installed on my home server. But when I open a webtab, it has all these browser tabs I don't want to see. I am sure there are many cases where this product can shine.

sbinnee··on Windows 11 Notepad to support Markdown
I just found out that google docs has “markdown mode” as a beta feature. You can use headings, bold, italic syntax etc.

sbinnee··on Justifying Text-Wrap: Pretty
It reminds me of one of my favorite programs, par[1].

sbinnee··on Be wary of Bluesky
Pangram seems like a useful service for the world we are going to face. To me the semicolon-newline pair reminds of AI almost immediately. I am surprised that this service didn’t point that out. It could be just to me this pattern is bothering though.

sbinnee··on Ggml.ai joins Hugging Face to ensure the long-term progress of Local AI
I am happy for ggml team. They did so much work for quantization and actually made it available to everyone. Thank you.
sbinnee··on A beginner's guide to split keyboards
I don't much understand the obsession with keyboards but I appreciate the post. It's much more than I expected for a beginner's guide. If I ever feel like trying one out, I will start from here.
sbinnee··on Sizing chaos
Haha. Yes, I learned that hard way. Anyway there are not many options for me to try offline. Many shops have been making extra small size only available online, which sucks.
sbinnee··on Sizing chaos
I as a small male struggled a lot when I started exploring fashion. Nothing seemed fitting to my body. You know what happened? I just gave up at some point. I rarely buy new clothes now. I absolutely don’t buy anything before I try them on.
sbinnee··on AI agent opens a PR write a blogpost to shames the maintainer who closes it
How did I miss this. It’s so absurd.
sbinnee··on “Nothing” is the secret to structuring your work
Every Friday, I close every app and turn off my laptop. I have been doing it as a ritual to fully enjoy my weekend. When you close your laptop lid, you leave your thoughts on the desk with it. Go meet your people.
sbinnee··on Discord will require a face scan or ID for full access next month
Thanks for the context

It sounds like they would like the idea of Worldcoin[1] very much (I want to make sure I am being sarcastic. I hate the idea).

sbinnee··on TSMC to make advanced AI semiconductors in Japan
Not surprising from the fact that Taiwanese like Japan
sbinnee··on Quartz crystals
Believe or not, when I explained to many non techies how quartz watches work and how any computers’ hardware clocks work in the same principle, they were all surprised how elegant and how efficient the mechanism is. I was also impressed when I first learned about it. True science and engineering beauty.
sbinnee··on OpenClaw is changing my life
I don't buy it. It's the same model underneath running whatever UI. It's the same model that keeps forgetting and missing details. And somehow when it is given a bunch of CLI tools and more interfaces to interact with, it suddenly becomes x10 AI? It may feel like it for a manager whose job is to deal with actual people who push back. Will it stop bypassing a test because it is directly not related to a feature I asked for? I don't think so.
sbinnee··on Voxtral Transcribe 2
I guess I will check Korean. OpenAI audio mini is not bad but I always have to make gpt to check and fix transcription.
sbinnee··on Voxtral Transcribe 2
3 hours for a single request sounds nice to me. Although the graph suggests that it’s not going to perform as good as openai model I have been using, it is open source and surely I will give it a try.
sbinnee··on How watercolor brushes are made (2015)
My partner would love this article!
sbinnee··on Agent Skills
There could be a market if it is standardized, and it seems there is already one [1]. I don't know exactly what they are selling because the website is just too confusing to me to understand a thing.

sbinnee··on I miss thinking hard
What OP wants to say is that they miss the process of thinking hard for days and weeks and one day this brilliant idea popping up on their bed before sleep. I lost my "thinking hard" process again too today at work against my pragmatism, or more precisely my job.
sbinnee··on France dumps Zoom and Teams as Europe seeks digital autonomy from the US
During covid I was studying in France. The school deliberately chose not to use zoom. It was software called BigBlueButton. I was happy with it. I appreciated them for having their own opinions instead of just following what others do.
