Maybe you are right and it depends on "friends". Me and my 3 other siblings have alwya liked similar gamnes (We are 7 siblings). Being the eldest I might have played a role thats why I thought that one could influence their children's gaming preference.
sayamqazi··on Can I run AI locally?
You are claiming that intelligence and even consciousness are non-deterministic entties at core. This is a huge claim and requires incredible proof.

> How many of us have a reminiscence that starts “looking back, the most life-changing part of my primary or secondary education was ________,”

For me it was a website with turotirals on how to make flash games. It literally launched my career and improved the quality of life for my whole family by an order of magnitude.

I am primarily the naysayer of AI but I admit that current LLMs could have easily replicated the whole website.

The solution is to give them a taste of better built (specifically competetive) games and they will never like roblox.

Also since dreams are built from the combinations of experiences that brain already knows so we cannot die in a dream as our brain does not know how to replicate what it would feel like after being dead. Basically LLMs also cannot produce truly novel ideas.

If you are from US I want to let you know about a scam. Here in asian countries people with good enlgish accents are recruited to pretend to be US citizens and claim benifits that are unused by the real people. There is a whole proper process of how this works. The recruit is given full identity information and a software to make the call appear from the US. The officials on the US side are in on this and get a share for each successfull claim.

"Wake me up when we see swaths of companies AI-coding internal Jira".

This shouldnt be the goal. The goal should be to build an AI that can tell you what is done and what needs to be done i.e. replace jira with natural interactions. An AI that can "see" and "understand" your project. An AI that can see it, understand it, build it and modify it. I know this is not happening for the next few decades or so.

sayamqazi··on Google Titans architecture, helping AI have long-term memory
You are making a claim that "Intelligenece" is separable from other things found in humans and other animals. There is no proof or example supporting this.

I have come to beleive that we will only be able to truly replicate intelligence if the system was trying to preserve itself. Its the biggest incentive ever to do intelligent things.

Some people are lucky with memory that works extremely well with numbers. My memory is average but when it comes to numbers, I remember serial numbers of certain products, enrollment numbers etc from more than a decade ago.

HP-L170 (A monitor I bought) QW4HD-DQCRG-HM64M-6GJRK-8K83T (Windows XP key) 10396-9 (My enrollment number for board exam)

I remember a bunch of long-ago-abandoned phone numbers as well.

Memorize a long passphrase for encryption, dont keep it anywhere and when forced to give it up, say "I forgot it". This is partly a joke but only partly.
sayamqazi··on Hacking India's largest automaker: Tata Motors
I am a pretty cookie cutter developer. We just make glorified CRUDs and I have tried to convince the engineering director hundreds of times that "There is no use of encrypting and decrypting localstorage with a key thats sitting right inside the client code." Yet they keep insisting on it in the code-quality checklist.

sayamqazi··on Don’t Look Up: Sensitive internal links in the clear on GEO satellites [pdf]
My sister knows a doctor who botched a surgery due to an argument with a junior who wanted to do some step of the surgery. The senior one was not having it at all and just threw the scalpel directly at him. Nothing happened to him because if we start firing doctors for this, we would be missing out on all the surgeries he did successfully.
sayamqazi··on Don’t Look Up: Sensitive internal links in the clear on GEO satellites [pdf]
Here are a bunch more things to make you even more scared.

- Oops! mistakenly left some instrument inside and sewed up the patient - Junior begging to do certain step of the surgery while the anesthesiologist asking them to just get a move on. - Administered a drug to a newborn baby which was supposed to be given to the mother. (My sister's colleague did this with no consequences)

sayamqazi··on Why today's humanoids won't learn dexterity
So many repliers have seemed to miss the truly hard part i.e. "keyring" it has many keys and the robot needs to see, recognize and juggle the keyring to only push the correct key in the hole. A human can do this so easily with a single hand
sayamqazi··on Why today's humanoids won't learn dexterity
I have thought up a HOLY GRAIL test for physical AI. "Open a door given a keyring". It involves vision, dexterity, understanding of physical constraints etc. I find it insane that our hands do this so casually.
sayamqazi··on Everything is correlated (2014–23)
> Why? We learn about the past by looking at the present all the time. We also learn about the future by looking at the present.

The original comment's was in a differnt spirit or at least how I interpreted it. It was more implying by looking at a very small slice of reality you should in theory be able to re-construct the whole universe because every particle and space quantum is being influenced (to tiniest degrees) by every other particle in the universe, which will not work if you dont know all the rules, no determinism and T_zero.

sayamqazi··on Everything is correlated (2014–23)
Wouldnt you need the T_zero configuration of the universe for this to work?

Given different T_zero configs of matter and energies T_current would be different. and there are many pathways that could lead to same physical configuration (position + energies etc) with different (Universe minus cake) configurations.

Also we are assuming there is no non-deterministic processed happening at all.
