I personally am thankful for ORM in Laravel's Eloquent.

I have requirements to always have a changing query which if done with raw sql can increase the maintenance effort drastically.

I speak this because I also am maintaining a legacy project which uses raw SQL and it takes a tremendous effort to even add a single feature which I know can be done in minutes with ORM.

Overall, I'm with the ORM gang, however, I also respect the other view and I know well enough the freedom they have with using raw sql.

But I guess it's fine for me to be constrained with ORM, especially with Laravel's Eloquent ORM. It greatly improves my productivity working as a software engineer, and I also get to know more edge cases of raw SQL by using ORM.

processing this, before I thought by simply declaring that I work for "company A" as a contractor can solve those problems, since all the tax are my own works now and they can simply pay the invoice sent.

Hm, may I know these recruiter spam emails? I didn't get one. Open for PM at bio

What are those new hot skills, if you dont mind?

Looking for a better compensation is one thing. I've tried to apply previously as a remote worker, however, not yet hit anything.

By moving to Canada, I hope to solve the problems:

1. the timezone difference (Indonesia is at +7, EST/PST -5/-8). I see that most jobs, albeit offer remote option, still requires the applicant to be either in US/CA/EU. Very rare to see one in APAC

2. Tax, most teams I tried to apply to seems to avoid this with remote workers, hence I think moving to Canada can ease this problem.

> But, there are options, near you too. Singapore, South Korea, Australia. Before, I've considered the options like Singapore, South Korea, Australia. I had a work project with an australian, too. But, now having a hard time to have another one. I also have applied to Singapore, not heard anything from them. Haven't tried South Korea, how does the pay look like?

>If you want to stay in Indonesia. You could probably find US or Australian software developers in Bali. That may help with remote work options, at good pay with their contacts/companies. I haven't got into contact with them, so you mean, I come to them, and simply ask them for help with my possibility to get a remote work, too?

27 year old male

I recently heard that in terms of Software, Japan is not as interesting as America or Canada (or EU?). I'm still considering, so which japanese companies do you think worth paying attention to?

Thanks!
