sanmak··on Ask HN: Is It Suggested to Upgrade MacBook Air(2015) to Pro/Air M1(2020)
I think Mac Air 16 GB seems an ideal choice
sanmak··on Ask HN: Where I can get ProductHunt Analytics. Products launched and Performance
I also found https://upvote-bell.com/.

But both still lacks the overall result driven analytics.

https://productwars.phantombuster.com/ focusses on today's launch. https://upvote-bell.com/ focusses on project level data points.

sanmak··on Ask HN: Is It Suggested to Upgrade MacBook Air(2015) to Pro/Air M1(2020)
What about Pro? When to buy Pro or Air?
sanmak··on Ask HN: Is it important to do the sentiment analysis of user's feedback/comment?
Thanks for the suggestion. Keeping in simple is the crux. In my case, there is a text box where user have to write, and on top of that we are doing the analysis.
sanmak··on Show HN: Re-Imagined Hacker News for this decade
Thanks for the feedback mate. It's a humble attempt to Re-Imagine Hacker News for this decade and will improve the UX elements. Efforts to make it more user-friendly and one stop for everything tech is the goal of the product.
sanmak··on Show HN: Re-Imagined Hacker News for this decade
Glad you read the about page. It's a humble attempt to Re-Imagine Hacker News for this decade with an improved UI/UX. I hope about page has covers the most part of your question.
sanmak··on Show HN: I made a sandbox game to help with financial planning
Kudos for the idea and execution. Microsoft Windows layout is a killer. I'm not sure about saving the game progress though. Bookmarked the app. Will play it again.

Hi HN,

I built a bot that will post top stories from Hacker News; Trending articles from TechCrunch, Dev.to, Hashnode.com, Medium, Daily.Dev, Finshots; and top hunts from ProductHunt; to the Box Piper's twitter account, https://twitter.com/boxpiperapp.

The intent is to save time(especially mine) that we usually waste on twitter feeds and also while searching for articles on all the different platforms.

What if we can get all the trending posts, stories and articles directly in our twitter feeds and save our time?

A humble attempt to do interesting stuffs with Twitter Bot and my twitter feeds useful.

Any suggestions and feedbacks are highly appreciated.

sanmak··on Show HN: A contact form that prunes spam
To the author, what i understood from the comment and website, that a user has to pay an amount to prove the user intent and it's not a spam/joke/anything else. If everything works well, there will be a refund.
sanmak··on Show HN: Ad Network for Sideprojects
Nice product. Created an account and it's smooth. Two questions: - what's your plan of monetisation - how you will maintain the ads sanity? Not all side projects are worthy enough for ads.
sanmak··on Show HN: 1 week to crowdsource an idea, 1 week to make it
To author, nice app. You handled few of the edge cases for ideas submission. Kudos.

I think you should add email option where a subscriber can get a mail every day about the most upvoted ideas. This way it'll be more collaborative. You can open up a discord server where people can discuss all the submitted ideas.

Also you need to add spam protection when someone added an idea. I just added an idea with text: "BLA BLA....". Prevention from spam and Bot protection will helps.

sanmak··on Ask HN: How long did you continue working your day job while working on an MVP?
I would suggest if in case you have financial backup and have an adequate funds with health insurance, try to go for 100% to your MVP. I'm doing that currently.

It would be hard, exhaustive to switch from day job to your MVP. One of them will definitely suffer. Your mind and body will constantly thinking about your MVP while you will be in your day job.

Multitasking is good but for a shorter time. It shouldn't be considered for long term. Read this article, https://www.verywellmind.com/multitasking-2795003. And lot of research has been done in that domain.

Again, if you don't have adequate funds to run at-least for a year or two, do not leave your day job.

sanmak··on Ask HN: Why HN didn't make it mandatory to accept only HTTPS links?
Rightly said. Can we not push "good articles" running in HTTP towards transitioning it to HTTPS? Definitely we may lose those articles during that phase, but a probable security risk can be avoided. A thought.
sanmak··on Ask HN: Why HN didn't make it mandatory to accept only HTTPS links?
I wasn't either trying to correlate HTTPS to content quality. It was an analogy. The way it's mentioned in the Guidelines of HN, https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html, that the submission should gratifies one's intellectual curiosity. In the similar way, HN should add in the Guidelines that it will only allow HTTPS links. Again, no correlation with quality and HTTPS. The way it's mandated is the suggestion.
sanmak··on Ask HN: Why HN didn't make it mandatory to accept only HTTPS links?
The way HN is moderated today to accept only quality content, in the similar way, HN can mandatories HTTPS. Then people will start porting sites to HTTPS soon. There will be a clash but it's for good.
sanmak··on Show HN: Sleepy Time Conference—conferences that comes together while you sleep
To author, idea is cool. Any asynchronous communication helps to manage time and resources. But I believe there are some things that cannot be asynchronous. Conferences are meant to be interactive and collaborative. Pre-recorded sessions concepts already exists. For office communication, Slack and Loom are already doing good jobs.
sanmak··on Show HN: Shrink my video – Opinionated ways to reduce video file size
The best part of this app is you are not only giving it a feature to perform an operation but also educating users with a library that they can use. Great job.
sanmak··on Show HN: Hacker News Discourse turns HN stories into Clubhouse-style audio rooms
Idea is cool. Try to club other sources as well to make it accessible for non-tech users.

I'm assuming it's a MVP to test the product. Kudos.

It Definitely needs an improvement, UI, audio, etc.

Bookmarked the app already.

sanmak··on Launch HN: Wasp (YC W21) – DSL for building full-stack web apps
Thanks it does.

I suggest to open a showcase section in your repo. It'll open up a channel for contributions from those who wants to build apps on top of wasp-lang.

sanmak··on Launch HN: Wasp (YC W21) – DSL for building full-stack web apps
To author, the app looks like an efficient way to build an app but would be better if you can add some more examples to showcase wasp-lang actual power. Examples with basic workflow will suffice.

For someone who want to build something fast and prevent themselves from repetitive tasks, they need to be very sure before jumping into a new wasp-lang codebase.

sanmak··on Show HN: Pep – Turn your site into a fast, installable Progressive Web App (PWA)
To author, I added for my blog, https://www.boxpiper.com/. It works as you said, but it slows down the website a bit.

Can you have a look why exactly it happens?

Installation feature is cool. Kudos.

sanmak··on Show HN: Start working remotely is a job search I built using V
Hey something went wrong, 502 Bad Gateway
sanmak··on Show HN: Weekend project, shows when the next season of your TV show premieres
To the author, nice work. Kudos. Wanted to know how it actually works. Are you scrapping at a continuous interval, preparing ui components at those durations and build once it's done.

Adding more content about the show and information about the casts will definitely helps in SEO. Try to add last updated time in all the pages. It triggers google about how relevant data is w.r.t current time. I have done this trick with my blog and it works.

Btw, nice work.

sanmak··on Ask HN: Is anyone still using Gulp?
Found one: Minwiz: https://github.com/zeplia/minwiz

Not promoting this, but its a good Starter kit for lightweight sites which actually works and it's legit.

What i feel, solving a problem is much bigger part of a system then using gulp or webpack or likes.

sanmak··on Tusk – Short-lived anonymous feedback
Got your point. But since it's in a public link, unknowns will hop inn and start corrupting it. Because I liked the intent of your product and wanted to keep it sane. Try products like https://akismet.com/. It'll help.
sanmak··on Tusk – Short-lived anonymous feedback
To author, user can input spam comments which actually doesn't make any sense and may corrupt the feedback loop. Have you given a thought about. Check the comments, https://testindia.tusk.page/
sanmak··on Show HN: Socket.ly – A fast, global-scale solution for socket.io applications
Looks good to use, but how do i contact you for support? No email address found in the website.
sanmak··on My product is my garden
Firstly, Very well written and articulated. i wish to have people like these around me while I'm WFH.

bearblog.dev is great, minimalistic, bang on with usages.

Just signed up. Will be using it for sure and will definitely have some contributions as well. Few ideas to chip in.

Kudos great work.

http://www.piedpiper.com/ is website what i have found. Does anyone actually created a solution?

With every service/third-party API's implementation in a system, it adds up an uncertainty around it. Circuit Breaker pattern helps in building resilient systems, handling error gracefully and prevents applications from failing through cascading. As per Martin Fowler: The basic idea behind the circuit breaker is very simple. You wrap a protected function call in a circuit breaker object, which monitors for failures. Once the failures reach a certain threshold, the circuit breaker trips, and all further calls to the circuit breaker return with an error, without the protected call being made at all.

Check out dev.to post. It has Examples codes with success and failure scenarios written in Javascript.

Good Read.
