samiru··on A chess position to defeat computers?
This is not a "hard" problem. It is just a problem you can't solve with brute force.

samiru··on The Siberian crater phenomenon is more widespread than previously thought
Ok. Here is a Google Maps link to the Yamal Peninsula, the area the "crater" was found. It is filled with these same kind of little ponds:

If you somehow would get a hole in the ground, it does not sound that far fetched to me it would get filled with water over time.

And of course other people have noticed this too. It is just, that many times the most vocal ones are the people who have a belief system/agenda to drive. How things really are, is not a matter of an opinion.

samiru··on The Siberian crater phenomenon is more widespread than previously thought
Yeah, maybe. On the other hand the whole phenomenon seems to be very common and has been going on for thousands of years.

Just in this one picture one can see hundreds of such craters:

Trying to link the phenomenon to the post Industrial Age 'Global Warming' I call that just another lie.

samiru··on Finnish ISP forced to block access to ThePirateBay and other sites
Sure, nothing against the Spotify per se. But it's the copyright holders and their lobbying that is behind these laws. If you want to send a message, stop using their services (or buying products) all together.
samiru··on Finnish ISP forced to block access to ThePirateBay and other sites
Just cancelled my Spotify subscription. Money talks.

> But the courts ordered it? Surely they are using some sort of legislation to support the decision?

In Finland? Not necessary.
