Rocket Fuel is an ad tech company providing DSP and DMP services. We have about 200 engineers working across different departments like AI, Machine Learning, Data Infrastructure, Data Modeling and Web Applications. I work for the Applications team and our team builds the web app responsible for managing the ad campaigns and providing the interface for the work built by the rest of the engineering team.

Our stack includes Backbone, Marionette, Rails and Node.js. The work includes building CRUD, building tools for data visualization and analysis, API design and many other things that comes with building a complex web application. I was laid off in 2009. I was on the H1-B visa and I only had a month or so to find another job. It was tough and during the process of applying and interviewing for jobs, I went to my school to meet up with some professors and see if they had any projects or companies they could recommend me to apply for. One of the professors recommended me to apply for a position in a lab which was well funded. I met up with professor who still runs the lab. He convinced me to do a PhD. He sold me on it and that's exactly what I did.

I am confused about accessing the tools. My request got approved but how to make use of the credits? Like for Digital Ocean, I see in the comments people refer to promo codes. Where or how do I get those promo codes?
