Basically you upload your .SC2Replay files and I'll convert them into web replays. My twist is I make recordings from 2 players perspectives and show em both to you on the same page (sync'd of course). I have some other options as well, but I'm really looking for feedback on what things people do not like and what things you think would be cool.
From a bootstrap/startup perspective, my goal for this was to produce something that would scale decently with almost no $ investment. Have this running on 1 ec2 micro, static pages and assets (js,css, img) being served up by github pages. Dynamic pages are being served directly from memcached via nginx module (pages are stored already gzipped). If anyone is interested in the implementation details I'd be willing to share cuz I think some of the techniques I used could help others looking to bootstrap their own webapp.
I also have a mobile version so you can watch em on your phone. http://m.ggreplayz.com
As I sit on my couch across from my 30 yr old wife (who is pregnant) and my 3 yr old son I opened this link with an eerie feeling. When Alexis started talking about his mother, first though in my mind was 'he is gonna say it is cancer'. Then when I saw the screen of it being a brain tumor, it felt surreal.
About a month ago, my wife had a grade IV glioblastoma removed, and is now undergoing 6 weeks of daily chemo and radiation, followed by scheduled delivery @ 34 weeks, followed by more radiation on her spine (her gleo has PNET like attributes). We are extremely lucky that she is/was a nurse at one of the best hospitals in the world (mayo clinic).
While my dreams of owning my own successful company have been put on hold to focus on my family, this story has helped me put aside some of my own internal guilt of still wanting to do that someday.
Thanks for sharing your story Alexis.
I'll check out wmctrl

Also understand Chrome needs to be able to get at the clear text at some point, and that you can get at it with JS. Adding a session/timeout based master/login password (like ssh keychain for example) to autofill pw, would be one idea to plug some of the holes.
Most frameworks are bloated (not setup to REALLY scale) out of the gate.
CakePHP is very flexible, and if used correctly can scale for 99% of workloads. Especially if you leverage some of the php5 only nuances (cake 1.3 has been developed to support php4 and php5).
CakePlate can steer you in the right direction - but is not an end all. It helps turn your idea into reality quicker. If your idea twitter scales, then you have cash to throw at the (good) problem.
If you give Cake an honest shot, I'm confident you will like it.
