rustc··on Get Your App Ready for Rails 4
Are there any instructions to try out Rails 4 right now? And any major gotchas still left to be fixed?

Excellent post BTW.

rustc··on GitLab 4.0 Released
GitLab seems to be getting better and better, every month.

To anyone who is using this, how would you compare 4.0 to the current GitHub, in terms of UI/Features?

I'm thinking of moving from a third party host to GitLab. What should I be aware of?

rustc··on FXT: a library of algorithms
I'd like to use some static site generator, start with collaborating on a private repo, later release it on GitHub and accept contributions.
rustc··on FXT: a library of algorithms
YES!

If there isn't, I'd like to start one.

Ideally, I'd like the code to be under a very liberal license like MIT, or under public domain.

Anyone in?

rustc··on Show HN: Etherpad meets Markdown for a minimal company wiki
Small bug: The markdown editing textarea is not full width on Firefox, it's very narrow. Works fine in Chrome though.
rustc··on Show HN: Etherpad meets Markdown for a minimal company wiki
Any JS frameworks? Are you using Etherpad Lite?
rustc··on Show HN: Etherpad meets Markdown for a minimal company wiki
I think we all would like non-clean and open source, compared to nothing :)
rustc··on Show HN: Etherpad meets Markdown for a minimal company wiki
Looks neat!

What tech stack are you using on this?

rustc··on Data Visualization CourseWiki – CS 448B
This looks amazing based on the contents.

I don't think this one has the videos available?

I'd love to see video sessions of such a course (best if it's being taught with D3).

Are there any such courses?

rustc··on The 2012 Perl 6 Coding Contest
Are there any benchmarks available that compare Rakudo's performance with PHP, Python and Ruby?
rustc··on Why a Computer Science Degree Matters
I'm going to hijack this thread for some related opinion (sorry):

For those who _did_ get a CS degree, what things you learned from it do you use in your current programming work? and how?

Edit: or rather, what is the single most important thing you would want self-taught programmers to know about, that you find most don't?

rustc··on Should I write HTML or CSS first?
Not trying to troll, but "I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question." [1]

Why/How would anyone write CSS before HTML?

rustc··on Codemirror v3 released
Can anyone compare this to Ace [1], if you've used both?

rustc··on Exploring Emacs
Serious question: If you switched from Vim to Emacs, and are happy with it, how fast/slow are you in Emacs for pure text manipulation (moving lines, changing text within quotes, joining lines, etc)?
rustc··on Ask HN: What's the best way to setup an email server on a VPS?
Oh I have free time :) and I do have a good bit of experience running servers. I've been managing a few VPS's for PHP, Rails, and Node.js apps for over 3 years now.

Plus, I want to learn, so, I'd like to give this a shot, if you have any pointers / suggestions.

rustc··on Google Apps stops accepting free sign-ups
Not to hijack this thread, but I've asked a question [1] about how to setup an email server on a VPS, if anyone could help me(us?) out.

rustc··on Tweeting on behalf of users is bad
What kind of tweets were they?
rustc··on Ask HN: Which Vim plugins / config line can you not live without?
On a related note, has anyone tried https://github.com/hayaku/hayaku (available for Sublime Text 2 only at this time)? How does it compare to ZenCoding?
rustc··on Ask HN: Do you limit your code to a certain line width?
I'm sure _everyone_ would find it easier to read scrolling down rather than horizontally.
rustc··on D3, Conceptually - Lesson 1
Borderline off-topic:

What are the best open-source charting libraries available right now (in terms of looks)? D3 or not, although I'll prefer D3, as it would be easier to extend.

I'm looking for something as pretty as Highcharts, to use in open-source apps.

rustc··on Brian Harvey: Why SICP matters
As someone who hasn't been able to get enough motivation to read past the first few pages of SICP, I _really_ wish someone made a TryRuby.org like thing using SICP.

Please!

rustc··on Show HN: My "weekend" project, an ML dialect and compiler
Did you really write this in "one" weekend?

Excellent work!

Would you mind posting about how someone would go about getting from a "medium beginner" Haskell knowledge to implementing something like this?

rustc··on Code Length Measured in 14 Languages
Am I missing something, or the solutions have vastly different approaches, sample code, etc? What will you get by measuring that?
rustc··on Why Erlang matters
On a related note, has anyone tried Elixir[1], which is a Ruby-like language that runs on the Erlang VM. If so, what project was that? how was your experience?

rustc··on Offer HN: Tell me what you need, and I'll program it (for free)
Could you explain what work do you need done?
rustc··on Offer HN: Tell me what you need, and I'll program it (for free)
So, you want replies to your comments sent to you via email? or something more?
rustc··on Offer HN: Tell me what you need, and I'll program it (for free)
What kind of framework? Just anything random?
rustc··on Luvit – Asynchronous I/O for Lua
Very interesting project.

Is there any list of what all parts of node.js have been implemented till now?
