rtuin··on Pi.ai LLM Outperforms Palm/GPT3.5
Based on the title I expected a well performing edge model available to run on a Raspberry Pi.

This is clearly not that.

rtuin··on Astral
Perfect timing, I’m excited to what Astral will bring.

The python ecosystem keeps building momentum as “doing things with data” becomes bigger, more accessible, and also more (near) real-time and I think the ecosystem would really thrive with better, unambiguous tools that become de facto to the community of builders instead of plenty of suboptimal ones to choose from.

rtuin··on Community is the future of AI: Blog post and community discussion
I'm getting the point of the post, but confused to what it means for community/public SO.

Is the essence really: "Please contribute manual qualitative solutions to public SO, so we can use it to train GenAI for our enterprise customers", or have I misread?

rtuin··on Ask HN: How do you deal with information and internet addiction?
This rings a bell! Thank you for commenting this.
rtuin··on The technology behind GitHub’s new code search
Same here. I find doing a quick org-wide code search for a specific call a great starting point for impact analysis for API changes. Using it multiple times a week!
rtuin··on Russhian Roulette: 1/6 chance of posting your SSH private key on pastebin
Really good! Sent this to my colleagues to raise awareness on third party package security risks.
rtuin··on I am done. I give up

I'm writing this post because I'm done.
  [...]
But for me, I can't take it anymore. I've hit rock bottom and I have nothing left to give. [...] Don't let your dreams consume you like they did for me,
I find this really alarming and hope that OP is OK'ish now, and that this is not a suicide note.
rtuin··on Ask HN: I'm in a rut. How did you get out of yours?
> …, adhd meds, you are scrambling and desensitizing the already compromised executive function center of your brain.

Any references to prove or substantiate this? I’m specifically interested in the claim about adhd meds

rtuin··on Grep one-liners as CI tasks
Oh the power of Linux.

I’m also using grep in CI as a simple but effectieve check on dependency violations in some codebases.

rtuin··on Happy New Year HN! What are your plans for the new year?
I'm really happy with my life right now. The family is doing well, the job is good fun, working on some really cool things. Though recently I realised that this is all fun and games, and so I want share more. Have more positive impact on the people around me and beyond. Increase the legacy, so to say.

Happy New Year!

rtuin··on Phrack Magazine
Such a classic.

One of my favorite things ever written.

rtuin··on What’s New in Little Snitch 4
Thanks for the link, couldn't find it!
rtuin··on Day 1: Where to begin with trading cryptocurrency
Both I guess, with my limited view on the matter I think cryptocurrencies are at this moment not much without trading.
rtuin··on Day 1: Where to begin with trading cryptocurrency
Original author here.

Starting with bitcoin is probably the easiest, but on first contact with any cryptocurrency you should be prepared to lose it all. I'm on day 2 of my journey now on which I made first contact with exchanges. Now I found out that BTC, LTC and ETH are probably the best to start with, since they are the "base" currency to buy most of the other currencies. I hope to blog about that tomorrow or the day after.

rtuin··on How I learned React Native in a weekend and shipped an app
"I do experience with React, but none with React Native."

Oh

rtuin··on Peter Drucker: How to (Actually) Manage Your Time
Another time management method that claims to be different, but really is not.
rtuin··on Ask HN: How do you condition yourself to be more critical
Before giving tips, how do you experience this frame of mind as a problem?
rtuin··on Ask HN: I'm 27. Why Do I Feel Like I'm Getting Too Old or Running Out of Time?
Just want to say I can relate to your train of thought.

But don't go 100% on one thing at any aspect in life. Things change, if you go 80% on something the 20% left is investment in something else.

As you say yourself you need compounding value.
