LLMs appear to have myriad uses, today, no Twitter .eth con men required.
> people pushing the idea that diet / food restriction alone is sufficient for weight loss
Diet/food restriction alone is strictly sufficient for weight loss: I'm pretty sure this is uncontroversially true, but it sounds like you're saying it isn't. Am I misunderstanding you?
Having stuff in my friend's "smart home" stop working because there was a hurricane and it couldn't connect to servers far away was also vindicating, tho.
When I write docs for my small team, I’m pretty lazy about it. If I write docs for a new joiner, I put in more work. If I write docs for external users, I’m both careful and I seek external review!
The linguistic patterns (including jargon but also more than that) peg us as part of various subcultures, as educated or not, rich or not, from Florida or not. I was interviewing with some random dude who went to Duke and he said "You remind me of my college roommate." I'd known this dude for 15 minutes: what else could there be, really, other than linguistic cues? Naturally, I was offered the job.
Jargon _can_ mean that the explanation is shallow; it just depends on which jargon employed when. Take any jargon filled non-sense - you can say equally shallow things entirely without the jargon!
The hyperbole here. Functioning infrastructure + corruption is a lot better than destroyed infrastructure + corruption
Authoritarian regimes are bad. The fact that this authoritarian regime has mongoloid/asiatic facial features is irrelevant. I hated GWB’s expansion of the security state and two senseless middle eastern wars, I hated Obama killing American citizens without trial, and I hated Trump’s… everything, basically, but admittedly withdrawing from Afghanistan was p cool. Stopped clocks etc.
Anyways it’s totally consistent with wanting a just world to also hate the largest authoritarian regime in that world. This “but what if it’s because you’re racist?!?!” line is an absurdity
People in my vicinity generally understand that antibiotics don't help viral infections. What doctors are they getting these antibiotics from? I doubt this claim.
Buddhism decidedly doesn’t say “ergo, don’t love things.” It’s more “love things (people) as they are, without attachment and in full knowledge that they are ephemeral.”
