riyadparvez··on Microsoft and Red Hat partner
I think this is the same problem Google had with Motorola. Sure, Google was playing nice. But the OEMs are afraid how long Google would be playing nice until Google decide to favor it's own phone-making division? Same applies here. How long MS is going to play nice before they decide to favor their own platform. Needless to mention, MS's past history isn't going to help much either.

riyadparvez··on Bug Prediction at Google (2011)
I work in software reliability (bug finding through dynamic program analysis) which is a related domain of this research.

Most of these machine learning based software engineering research tools are based on unrealistic scenarios, full of over-promises and very little to deliver in real life.

Why is it weird? You can't simply mine the private data of paying customers which is needed for Google Now.

Just wait for Apple to release "iGlass".

OMG, how innovative, Apple and see everyone is copying Apple.

riyadparvez··on Thank you Microsoft, and so long
I don't agree on big data part. But I certainly agree on not innovating and not have a solid plan. MS doesn't have any plan, their biggest problem is they don't like to innovate and instead just love to jump on the bandwagon of any trend. I mean what's the point of Silverlight? Adobe Flash is already dominated market. Instead of focusing on HTML5, they just built another thing like Flash.

MS needs innovation and solid plan; not jumping on the band wagon of next hot topic.

I like VS. It's a great product.

But why on earth Microsoft have to have a finger in every pie? Can't they just focus on some area and make some great products instead of trying to have monopoly in every little area and forcing or bullying everyone to user their product.

Just think about it, MS is most earning software company. But is there any field where MS is pioneer or revolutionize something? MS has monopoly in desktop but that's not for their quality of product, they just got lucky and IBM did some stupid mistakes. Windows is not a bad OS. But as the market leading OS, it's really mediocre. Even now Windows don't have basic feature like virtual desktops, a decent command shell, a good searching tool like "finder" in OS X.

Sorry, no recent plan. I think all of these algorithms are already well implemented by their inventors in C++
riyadparvez··on Rotate image without losing information
Oh, yes. That's true. I thought you are talking about losing pixel.
riyadparvez··on Rotate image without losing information
No it preserves information by not losing any pixel, instead it pad extra pixel

riyadparvez··on Bing vs. Google
I've noticed, 1st result displayed on their search didn't match mine. Nice try, M$
riyadparvez··on Bing vs. Google
Google always worked for me whatever the result is. Their default queries are just ridiculous and cherry-picked.
