Oh how I wish this were true.
I personally think that AS/Intellij are the best IDEs I've ever used. That includes Visual Studio Pro.
The article seems to be complaining about WYSIWYG not working well, and slow emulators. I've never found WYSIWYG to be an acceptable solution, but that's just my opinion. But to throw the whole IDE under the bus because of that is just irresponsible.
Also the emulators are blazing fast on my machine.
"The greatest weakness? There's no money for Twitter."
Besides I'm sure a lot of developers wouldn't be happy that their domain knowledge just went flying through the window. Even if that is a risk inherent in the job.
If this ever happens, it would probably be an extremely slow, well thought out (hopefully), well documented (also hopefully) rollout.
I did a double take when reading the headline. Why would we want to stop these amazing people?
Update: I never took personality into account when interpreting "rock star"
I've never seen any succeed at anything more than the most basic apps.
I put more stock in projects like Xamarin or MOE (and even they aren't perfect).
I guess it's true that every opinion exists, and they just need a person to have them.
However, asking a community with many engineers to not harshly nitpick someone else's contribution is a futile task.
I made a few PRs on the OpenMRS source code (had to squash a lot of commit though), and a PR on the reference application to allow login using only the keyboard! That was the most tricky task I did

I dreamt about the homework problem, and realized I had made a mistake. I immediately woke up, grabbed the paper, and made the correction. The whole class burst into laughter, but the professor didn't seem disturbed. Later he told me something like that happens every few years (he's been teaching for 30).
