rd07··on Akku: Experimental Bluetooth headset battery monitoring application for macOS
I am using KDE 5.20 with the latest upower and BlueZ installed, but bluetooth devices battery status doesn't show up in the power widget. I wonder if something isn't configured correctly.

Are there any similar applications/widget in Linux especially in KDE Plasma that can do this?

rd07··on How Normal Am I?
I share your concern and decided to not try the website. The site said no personal data is collected, and if we opt to share our data, it would be anonimized. Well yeah, but how about browser fingerprint? is that considered as a personal data? or if it's collected at all?

edit: Okay, I succumbed to my curiosity and decided to try it but with all my connection turned off. As far as my obeservation goes, at least there are no ajax call from this site and everything is functioning even without connection.

rd07··on Humanly Traversable Wormholes
Well, wormhole is not about how to travel faster than light, but about creating a shortcut between 2 points in a certain dimensional space by using a higher dimensional space. The most used explanation is using a piece of paper, the shortest route to travel between 2 points in a piece of paper is a straight line. But, we can shorten it by folding that paper and create a hole that connect the 2 points through the 3th dimension.
rd07··on We Don't Hate PHP
Many comments here complaint that this article doesn't convince them to use PHP. Well, I think that is not the purpose of this article either. In my opinion, it only lists some feature of PHP to show that actually PHP as a language an ecosystem also has the feature other considered modern languages have.
rd07··on We Don't Hate PHP
AFAIK, PHP 8 will support named arguments. I think that will make it easier to call built-in function without knowing the correct order of its arguments.
rd07··on Python malware on the rise
Yes, VB is popular back then and is very easy to learn. I wonder why VB.Net is not as popular as C# nowadays given that they have the same access to .NET Framework.
rd07··on Google Drive Desktop – A cross-platform Google Drive desktop app made w Electron
Nativier wraps a website with Electron, and in the end it's not a native apps. What I mean is a Google Drive client like Dropbox client in linux where I can sync a directory in my computer, to a directory in my Google Drive. There are some unofficial Google Drive client in Linux like Grive2 (https://github.com/vitalif/grive2), but like any unofficial apps, they are prone to break when Google update their API.

rd07··on A man feeding a remote Alaska town with a Costco card and a ship
It's interesting to see how the only grocery store in a remote place works. I've become interested in the story in another country, especially in my own country (Indonesia) an Asia generally.

In some village in Papua, Indonesia, the logistics are supplied by small plane that visit regularly. The road infrastructure there is still bad, especially in the mountainous part of the island. And even if there are roads, it's safer to go by plane.

Some small islands got their logistics by ship either once a week or once a month. And it really affected by the weather.

Being an island country puts a challenging problem for Indonesia to distribute logistic to its people.
