rbitar··on HN Hackers: Add Yourself
Right, this has to do with the way I was storing tags to make them searchable. I've fixed this for new users, and working on restoring this for previous entries.
rbitar··on HN Hackers: Add Yourself
Ok, I've replaced the emails with a contact form instead (still working on the captcha).

Also, the login is your url: HNHackers.com/username

Good catch with the lowercasing names. I'll fix that. Yes, I need a better implementation of searching by tag, or at least do some serious data cleanup.
rbitar··on HN Hackers: Add Yourself
Yes, I'm working on that now
rbitar··on HN Hackers: Add Yourself
Sorry about that, it was default in a plugin I'm using but I've removed it from future emails that are sent.
rbitar··on HN Hackers: Add Yourself
Ok, I fixed the minimum login length to 2 chars. Good catch. Also, I removed the $100/hr sub title :)

I agree. I took it off the logo. I was simply thinking of an easy way to restrict the site to quality coders, but this just sounds tacky.
rbitar··on HN Hackers: Add Yourself
I'll get rid of that asap. I hate that too -- I think its default in rails acts_as_authenticated plugin and I missed it.

I love this. So much, in fact, that I made an app for it tonight

Startup: A Silicon Valley Adventure by Jerry Kaplan. Recounts the true story of GO Corporation and the folks involved including John Doer and Bill Campbell. Been awhile since I picked this up but I remember it was a fun read.

Just noticed this too.

This is an old thread from around Nov 2007
rbitar··on ShareThis vs. AddThis
As I recall, ShareThis has better email integration. Personally, they both provide too many 'posting options' for my taste and are always two actions away for the user. There is also neat css hack floating around that can detect what popular domains users frequent (ie, delicious) by observing a:visited link color. I wish these widgets would take advantage of that, at least optionally.
